How Much More Is He Going To Lose? And How Much More Is He Willing To Lose?

'That...that monster. Why, why do I feel so angry?'

'Duh, because you want to see him burn alongside with his pathetic half-brother. You want to make them pay for what they've done to you, and when you do, you'll feel a sense of bliss like you have never, ever felt before. That's why you should listen to me, not Captain Buzzkill.'

'Shut up, Sunny! Tadashi only listens to me, because at least i'm leading him down the right path!'

'Really? Ha! He listened to me when he protected Go Go!'

'That was one time, at least he felt a bit of remorse for permanently scarring someone; he didn't mean to do it! Go Go is his friend, she means a lot to him- they all do!'

'Oh shut up, 'Dashi! Nobody cares!'

'Well I care! That's because he's who I really am! You're dead to me, Sunny! You're just someone I created, I was a stupid teenager who wanted a fresh start in life and I figured a new name might have helped, but now I realise it hasn't! Now just leave me alone, both of you.'

'Sure, buddy, whatever you say.'

'Not likely, freak.'

Tadashi suddenly felt a massive weight on his chest fade away. With wide eyes, he looked down at the ground- well, more like his bare feet.

He was having one last work out before the big fight. After countless hours of practicing his aikido skills, he felt like now he was truly ready to face anything.

The question was, where the others ready?

His mutant friends where just as scared as he was, they understood the pain and torture he had been through. It was only natural that he confided in them more when it came to his past experiences as a mutant, because they had been through them as well. But when it came to personal problems- well, that's another story.

Lately he had been managing to get a few hours worth of sleep, but often he would be disturbed by nightmares of ELEMENT Industries and his mutation, which both of them where very painful for him to think about. But now, he had transitioned from an innocent teenager to a grown man who knew the world wasn't as nice as most people tried to imagine it.

"Tomorrow. That's when i'll do it. Tomorrow i'm going to tell them everything. Tomorrow i'm going to be reunited with my little brother. Hopefully, he'll understand why I had to hide myself...and hopefully he'll forgive me."

Standing up straight, he took a deep breath and looked at the broken mirror on the other side of the room. He glanced at his knuckle, the scar from where he had punched the mirror glass was still there, from where a piece of glass had wedged into the flesh.

He looked at his broken reflection, reaching out to the shattered mirror and looking at it with a look of bewilderment and annoyance. His gaze turned to his hair, he sighed, shaking his head ever so slightly with a dry chuckle.

"I really need to get a haircut. How does Hiro do it?"

-Somewhere Else-

"Mr Callaghan, sir? You have a visitor." a young woman in a cop uniform said. "He's a relative."

"Relative, eh? Send him in, don't worry if he rushes out. I need to have a good chat with him anyway."

Greg walked through the door way, the officer standing aside and waited outside the cell.

"You have thirty minutes."

Greg smiled at Robert, to which he was returned with an unpleasant scowl.

"Hello, Rob. Haven't seen you in a while, how has my big brother been?"

"Half-brother. And I should be saying the same to you, Greg. But right now, i'm not too happy."

The fifty year old frowned, asking sadly. "Oh, why's that?"

"DON'T PLAY DUMB WITH ME! I KNOW YOU'VE BEEN CONTINUING WITH THE EXPERIMENTS EVEN AFTER I BEGGED YOU TO STOP! HOW CAN YOU ENJOY HURTING INNOCENT PEOPLE WHO'VE DONE NOTHING TO HURT YOU!?"

Greg laughed, smirking.

"You weren't saying that when you wanted Abigail back."

"WELL I'VE LEARNED FROM MY MISTAKES! I WAS ANGRY THAT KREI HAD TAKEN HER AWAY FROM ME! AS SOON AS I'M OUT OF HERE I'M GOING TO HAVE A FRESH START! I'VE SEEN SO MANY PEOPLE CUT CORNERS IN SCIENCE, BUT WHAT YOU'RE DOING IS DISGUSTING, YOU HEAR ME?! DISGUSTING!"

"I want to help the world, Rob! If I can collect data about each mutant, I can make the perfect soldiers for the government! Didn't you always tell me when we were kids that we should help the world!?You're my brother; I thought you'd be happy for me that i'm finally progressing!?"

Robert sighed, taking a moment to cool off.

"If things were different then of course i'd be happy for you. I always thought you'd go on to work for the government, I remember when you was a kid you'd always pretend to be a spy. And now look at you; you're nothing but a sicko. I love you, Greg, but I can't support you on this one, i'm sorry."

Greg genuinely felt broken hearted; his own brother- well, half-brother  hated him. They'd grown up together, they'd protected each other...and now, he had possibly lost him forever. But hey, why should he care!? He was a grown man; he could make his own decisions!

'Nobody is going to stop me!'

The man exited the prison cell, Robert watched as he left with an angry look. He honestly wished he could warn somebody, but the authorities probably already knew what was going on. Morley and Abigail certainly wouldn't help him because of what he had done two years ago. He had ruined the Callaghan name.

The only person he could try and warn was...Hiro. But even he probably knew by now. The runaway mutants must have asked him and his friends for help, he was sure of it.

He just wished he could do more to show that he was truly sorry for what happened two years ago.

Because even somebody like him could reform themselves and triumph over evil. Even if that evil was his own family.

An engine revved loudly, causing smoke clouds to form out of the exhausts. Tadashi came to a red light and he stopped, finding the chance to glance over at the cafe. He felt so empty when he saw Hiro's side of the room brightened with light. He wanted to break down and cry- because no matter how many times he had cried in the past two years, he still hadn't fully gotten all of his emotion out.

'Soon, Hiro, soon. Even if you cry, just know i'll be crying too. I love you, buddy.'

As the light turned green, he zoomed down the road, turning tight corners with ease. To him his motorbike was just like his old green moped, except it looked more awesome and he could wear a suit that covered him head to toe.

'Now all I need to do is get a good night's sleep. Darn it, it's my turn to check on Ted's bird. I'll feel awful if I don't follow our schedule. I wonder if its wing has healed yet? Oh well, it doesn't matter if it hasn't, that means the little guy will be able to stay longer, he's too cute!'
