Jace's POV
"So do you want to take everybody to Taki's later? We can tell them about everything that's happened." I asked Clary. We were loitering in the corridor, a little way away from Maryse's office after our quick escape.
"Yeah, sure." She replied. We walked towards the training room, our default location when we both didn't have much to do. Usually I helped her train and we chatted, but with the trainer coming tomorrow, we were probably going to focus more on the chatting part.
We reached the attic-like space that we used for training and Clary went to get changed. I couldn't be bothered so I hoisted myself up to the nearest roof beam and waited for her.
Not two minutes later she came into the room, a confused look on her face. Of course, I was usually quicker at changing than her, so she would assume that I was already there.
I silently landed behind her. She looked around but was too slow, I had already moved elsewhere.
"Jace? Is that you?" I stayed silent. I didn't tease Clary often, but I felt like we both just needed to lighten up a little.
"Damn you Jace, you know I hate it that your extra added angel juice actually does something useful whereas mine just makes runes." She muttered under her breath before suddenly spinning around in a full circle, hoping to catch me off guard. I jumped and hauled myself up to the rafters above, but wasn't quite quick enough. Clary spotted the edge of my tracksuit bottoms from the corner of her eye and looked up. She gave me a glare that could scare away a legion of demons.
"What?" I said, hoping that I looked the most innocent that I could. The love of my life continued to glare at me, and I felt the smirk on my face gradually begin to fad into nonexistence. "Sorry?" I said, as if I wasn't quite sure what she wanted me to say, because, to be honest, I had absolutely no clue what to say.
Clary's glare began to flicker, as if a kinder force was forcing it's way out of it's prison inside her and into the light.
And then she began to laugh. Full-out, unable-to-breathe laughter. She collapsed onto the floor, short of breath, as I stood above her, extremely confused.
After about thirty seconds, she stopped laughing and looked up. I raised my eyebrow and she burst into laughter again.
After about another 30 seconds, her laughter began to falter and she regained the power to breathe properly and speak.
"Sorry," she said, "Complete giggle fit!"
"Okay..." I didn't completely understand what she was saying, so I just went along with it.
The training session was as normal as it usually is. I hooked her up to the cords and wires that attached her to the beams above and she practiced her flips and jumps, me telling her how to improve and what she did well each time. Pretty standard school conditions, if you ask me. Well, almost anyway. There may or may not be a little more kissing involved than in a normal school.
About half an hour later, we finished and got changed into mundane clothes before heading out to meet the others at Taki's, like we had arranged earlier.
Clary's POV
Taki's was really empty for a Saturday evening. There was a werewolf pair in a booth in the corner, a group of vampires at the bar and a single warlock trying to chat up the barmaid. Izzy, Alec, Simon and Magnus were already there waiting for us at our usual booth.
They all looked up at us as we sat down. "Hey," Simon said, "I haven't seen you in so long!" He grinned cheekily.
I laughed. "I saw you this morning Simon."
