Chapter six

Imagine you are asleep and you can't wake up, you have the same image replaying in your mind over and over again. And you can't do anything about it. You would be scared right? But what if that image was not just an image? What if it was the very memory from your past? The very memory you've been trying to shut out for so long. Trying to block out and forget. To have it brought back and having to lie there and watch it replay over and over again. It's more then scary, it's terrifying, words can't even begin to describe how horrible and haunting it is.

I woke up screaming in a white room with no windows, medical equipment cluttering the already small room. Cords and wires were snaked across the floor. A woman I had never seen before ran up to me to try and calm me down. She looked shocked and nearly half as scared as I was. My chest was heaving and my breathing was unsteady. Tears spilled from my eyes and I was shaking uncontrollably. Someone I recognised burst through the door. "Dad," I croaked surprised by the sound of my own voice. I was still sobbing and my eyes were wet with tears. I felt a shooting pain in my head as my dad cradled me in a big bear hug. I buried my face into his warm chest and slowly the tears stopped. I finally came to my senses and realised I had no idea where I was. I looked around the small room surprised at how I didn't even remember getting here.

"We're in the hospital, if you did't know," my dads voice filled the room reading my mind.

"How long have we been here?"

"Three days," my dad replied.

"Three days!" My mouth dropped open. I couldn't have been here for three whole days! Could I? Dad noticed my confusion and started to tell me the whole story.

"Well what I know is you were at the mall with some friends and you collapsed and blacked out. After 15 minutes they realised this might be serious so they called an ambulance..."

"Wait, wait, wait," I interrupted, "This all happened when I was unconscious?"

"Yes, can I get back to the story now?" he asked smiling.

"Sure,"

"Well, then they took you to the emergency room they did some tests and stuff and told me you had slipped into a coma," My dad said, choking on the last word, his eyes glistening with tears. I stared at the wall as I let the information sink in. What would have hapened if I never had woken up? Would anyone have cared? A single tear trickled down my dads cheek.

"But dad don't you have to have some sort of serious injury or whatever to be in a coma? I was fine, I just fainted that's all," I assured him with a puzzled look on my face, not so convinced myself.

"That's what I thought too..." there was a long silence as tears fell from my dad's face. Making me feel scared. I looked into my dads eyes as he spoke.

"I thought I had lost you, Just like your sister..."
