Kat wakes up to deafening sound of her alarm. She has it set to an annoying noise and on the other side of her room so she has to get up to turn it off.

She does her regular morning routine then walks to the kitchen. But on her way, she sees her three year old obnoxious sister in the living room, playing barbies on their burgundy carpet. She looks like Kat, same hair color and sapphire eyes. "Kitten, play with me."

Kat gives an aloof look by rolling her eyes. "My name isn't Kitten."

"But your name is Kat."

"Whatever. And I don't want to play with your stupid dolls, I have better things to do Kara." She heads over to the kitchen, grabs a piece of watermelon, and bolts out of there. She gets her blue and black Jansport backpack, walks outside, and gets into her gray bike.

She rides over to the tall tree just down the block where she usually meets her other friends. She spots Aaron, but his bright blonde hair is spiked up. It's a change, a nice one. This really brings out his green eyes. "Hey Aaron," she calls, waving him over. "Can't wait to camp?"

He shoots his hands in the air about to say something, forgetting that he was riding. So he crashes into a rock, making the bike fall over. "No one saw that," he exclaims. "And fuck yeah! It has been a while since I went camping," he tells her, pushing the hot orange bike off him. He looks behind him to see Kat sliding down the back of the tree with laughter. Since he fell, he got his pure white shirt dirty. He stands up and brushes himself off. "Very funny." Without being able to control himself, he starts laughing as well.

"What is so funny," a deep voice asks behind Kat. She knows that voice from anywhere; Hunter. She looks to her right and was correct. He has dark skin with curly brown hair. He is wearing all neon yellow.

"Aaron fell off of his bike," Kat says laughing.

Hunter stomps on the ground with his left foot and says, "Dammit, I missed it!"

Jaxon ends up arriving and they all go to school, which is only five minutes away.

Times goes by fast. Eventually, her class with Nathan appears. She kisses his soft lips after she sits down on his lap. His light blue eyes meet hers and he says, "can I come over your house this weekend?"

"Sorry, but I'm going camping with the guys," she answers reluctantly.

He gets a dismal look on his face. "It almost seems like you love them more than me."

"Don't be silly, they are just friends. You are the one I love."

"Thanks babe." He then kisses her violently multiple times.

Everyone is currently packing their stuff for the trip, except Kat who is already finished, but they pack fast. So she changes into one of her dark gray yoga pants and a purple tank top with her black boots. She stands in the door way, "mom, dad, I'm going camping with my friends. I'll see your Sunday night."

Her dad is currently asleep because he has been working all day, he is a lawyer. Sometimes, he lets her help him with the cases. Her mother replies with, "okay honey, stay safe. I love you."

"I love you too mom."

As soon as she is about to walk out the door. Something grabs onto her left leg. She looks down and sees the top of Kara's head. "Kitten, can I go? I've always wanted to camp."

Kat's face grows an evil grin. "Sure, you can come. But beware, deep into rainforest lies grumpy monster by the name of Exfer. He loves to feed off the children's soul. Especially little girls names Kara."

Kara quickly jumps away from Kat's leg and screams on the top of her lungs. Then she runs into a corner and cries hysterically.

The door leading to their mom's office swings open, showing their mother. She yells frantically, "what happened to my little baby!"

Realizing that Kara was too afraid to speak, Kat spoke up, "I don't know. I think she told me that her barbies broke up."

Jaxon honks his horn, so she runs outside with her bag. Jaxon rides a red Chevrolet Camaro. Hunter is in the front and Aaron in the back. She knocks on the passenger seat and Hunter rolls the window down. She crosses her arms and says, "out. That is my seat."

Without hesitation, he jumps into the back accidentally kicking Jaxon in the face. "You fucker, that hurt," he says, turing around and punching him in the shoulder. Kat opens the door and sits, having her feet on the dusty dashboard.

"Clean this." She takes her feet off to wipe it down, then raises her feet back on.

Jaxon says with a British accent, "where to madam?"

"To Hoh Rainforest!"

And so, that is when their journey began.
