My eyes shot open as tears full of happiness sprung to my eyes. "Mia!"

I didn't even notice my bag dropping to the floor. I had my arms wrapped tight around Macy's neck and I knew nothing in that moment would ever make me let go. Macy was inevitabely my long-lost sister. Macy and I met when we were six years old; kindergarden kind of thing. We spent every single school day and weekend together. We were sure nothing and nobody could ever separate us. And how wrong was I. When we were thirteen, her parents decided to move back to Australia. We were given a month to say goodbye.

A month may seem like a long time, but it felt like a few hours. We talked every single day until about two years ago; when we both became very busy in our lives and our connection was lost.

And here was my best friend. Standing infront of me, looking more beautiful than ever. The excitement started to roll in right after the speechlessness. I didn't hestitate and grabbed her hand as I ran up the stairs and I found myself jumping onto my bed and laughing until my stomach ached.

"Tell me all" I demanded. Her eyes were filled with happiness and slight tears as she explained her longing to see me. But as soon as she started to speak of her experiences, I realised my eyes might not be able to hold this exact sight for long.

"Macy.."

"Yeah?" her eyes more lit than ever.

"Is this temporary? Please tell me there's more to this.." I pleaded for an answer that would satisfy me. "Mia, I'm staying. Nothing, and I mean nothing, is going to make me leave you again." And that was the answer I wanted. The hug was tighter than ever and the warmth engulfed me with such bizarre strength. I embraced this moment for as long as I could, even though I was sure now, that I would see this face in front of me, very often.

We broke apart to the apparant knocking at the door. I ran downstairs and to my great suprisement, Mr Walker was standing at my front door. His eyes leading towards mine. "Mia.. Hi"

Everybody in the house turned to me. "Have you guys already met?" my mum splurged the words before any of us could speak. "Yeah.. Mia is one of my English students. My name's Finn Walker." The concluded silence increased the tension between us all in the hallway. "Um, I just.. I wanted to stop by to say hello. I moved in three doors down and don't know anybody evidently" his smile was so profound and I found myself smiling back and smirking a little. "Well Mr Walker would y-" "Please, call me Finn" "Finn- would you like to come have dinner with us?"

Mr Walker shook his head and I knew, from his daunting expression, that the answer was no. "Thank you for the very welcoming and tempting proposition Mrs. Summers, but I've got a lot of paperwork to get through tonight and I wouldn't want to interrupt. Another time for sure". He walked out leaving us with a hand gesture which revealed a goodbye.

"Wasn't that very nice of your English teacher?" my mom's sarcasm didn't work for me this time. "Mum don't say it like that.." "Like what?" she grinned with a massive fake smile and I returned the mutual feeling.

To say that this day was eventful and bizarre, it would be an understatement.
