****Present day****
"MOM! I'M LEAVING FOR SCHOOL!! BYE!"
"Bye honey." My mom says in her sweet voice, which I rarely ever hear.
I slam the front door shut while eating toast my mom had made, getting it all over my Weekend Warrior shirt. Wiping some remains on my neon orange jeans, I fumble for my car keys. C'mon, I know I put them in here somewhere. Hah! Found them!
Here we go. First day of college. Not like it's going to be that much different from last years high school, except for maybe the little things.
I live in Grayson, California, population 1,212. Its pretty small. Very little ever happens here. A lot of people have dorms there but my mom doesn't want me to have one, of course.
While driving I noticed I forgot my phone. It's like my baby. I'm so serious, its quite sad. Making a very illegal U-turn, I speed back to my house.
"What are you doing, Rachael?" My mom asks.
"Getting my baby!" I yell while running upstairs. I hear her laughing at me at the foot of the staircase. I find my phone and run to my car, and soon I'm on my way back to school. Ugh, first day and I might be late!
Once I get into school I am greeted by my best friend Roxxan, who I've known for years; we know each other from school and we live in the same neighborhood as well.
"Rache, I just got to see some of the new boys and MAN do they look-" I cut her off because I am sick of her saying every new boy was hot. She only says it 'cause she thinks it might bring their self-esteem up. It's pointless, especially if the guys never actually hear her saying it.
"Hawt" she said in a muffled voice.
"Roxx, you have to screw your head on correctly cau-" I freeze. I can't stop staring, Standing farther down the hall is a new guy and Roxx is so right. Oh man, he is so attractive, from he way his blonde hair sweeps right over his forehead, to his adorable nose. Suddenly he turns and notices me watching him. Wow, his eyes are a brilliant blue colour that makes me feel like I'm diving into a pool. Wow that was weird. Oh shit, I'm still staring. Great. He's smirking and now I'm blushing.
"Rache? Ray? Rachael!"
"What?" I quickly snapped out of my trance. Roxy had the biggest "I told you so" smirk on.
"You were saying?" She has asked me in the sassiest tone she could manage.
"Well, I was saying that if you keep doing that to the boys then they'll just feel like you're giving them pity," I finish weakly. She doesn't respond instead leading me to the office to get our schedule and locker combinations.
"Do you think we'll be in the same classes? If so, the teachers do not know what they have just put themselves into!" Roxx giggles on her way to her locker which is only a couple of lockers from mine! Perfect!i
"OMG! Rache, come here!!" As I walked to her locker, I found myself tripping over what seemed to be air. I was caught by the same boy whom I had seen in the front of school. I looked into his perfect blue eyes with these dazzling sparkles in them.
"Hi." Was all he said and I thought he was amazing.
"Hi." I said my voice almost cracking.
"Are you okay?" He asked which was weird since I'm not on the ground and in his arms so I must be okay.
"Yea, I-I guess I a-am." I managed to stutter that out without completely forgetting my whole English language.
"I'm Tyler." He spoke in the most perfect way!
