After the older man's words, Regina stopped for a moment but soon smirked and her eyes became hard with that cold fury that was only to be feared. Rumpelstiltskin swore under his breath, he should not have said that. He hoped that if she knew, she'd return to how she was before being taken over. Now that he did not have the power he was used to, he felt entirely useless and weak. He was.
Emma had stopped on her tracks, her face stilled with shock, Belle looked exactly the same.
"So you think that by telling me that, everything would be fine and that we would be happy to have a father-daughter relationship? Well, think again" she said as she put his heart back in his chest with a painful twist.
"Y-you're letting me go?" Asked Mr. Gold full of uncertainty.
The Dark One laughed, "I am not letting you go, I'm letting you run for now" she said with a voice full of malice.
"Why?" Asked Rumpel uncertain.
"Because I know that you will crawl back to me".
The color in the Dark One's eyes changed back to the dark brown everyone was used to. Regina suddenly fell to her knees and dry heaved and coughed.
"Regina!" Exclaimed Emma running towards the brunette. She dropped besides her and wrapped her left arm around Regina's waist.
"Are you okay?" Asked Emma.
Regina nodded slowly, "Did I- Did I hurt anyone?" She asked while looking around.
Emma shook her head, "You controlled it in time" she said while smiling at the smaller brunette.
Regina tries to stand up but immediately sagged, Emma was there and caught her.
"Regina!"
"I'm- I'm okay"
Belle was crouched next to Rumpel and helped him get up.
She looked at him deeply, "Are you really her father?" She asked.
The man sighed shakily and nodded. Belle only smiled at him and whispered "Well, it looks like I'm her step-mother" and laughed.
"Well, that is incredibly messed up" came Regina's voice.
The couple turned their heads at Regina.
"Regina, I-" started the man but was soon interrupted by Regina.
"I really don't think now's the time to talk about it".
Mr. Gold nodded his head, silently agreeing.
Belle's accented voice chimed in, "Well, this has been an eventful day".
"I'll say" muttered Emma while helping Regina stand up. Regina looked at Emma and smiled gratefully.
"Lets just do whatwe came here for" insisted Regina.
Emma nodded, a hard look on her face.
