"Honey,she is home!"Vinnie heard her mother's voice upon entering the house. Her father emerged from the kitchen holding the wireless phone in his hand," Where were you?"he asked her in a stern tone. "I was at Walmart with Anna." Vinnie told a half lie. "Anna just called,she was asking for you!" Mr. Connor said with a straight face,trying hard not to get angry at his beloved daughter,"What did we teach you about lying to your parents?" Mrs. Connor gasped dramatically,"This is about a boy,isn't it?"she said,"you never lied to us before. "
"I am fed up with you both treating me like a baby,for God sake, I am a grown up now!"Vinnie shouted at the top of her voice, turned and ran upstairs to her room, her parents were shocked at her behavior.
She slammed the door shut with all her might, threw the shopping bags on the floor and landed on her bed with a loud thud.
