Four days had passed since Vinnie and Michael returned from their honeymoon.
"After today,only two days are left for our one month together to expire,"Vinnie said," so,I was wondering if we could renew the contract?" Michael was getting ready for work. "Till when?" He asked and kept on buttoning his shirt to hide the excitement. "Till death do us apart." Vinnie replied,emotionally. Michael pulled Vinnie closer to him and kissed her with all his passion.
Little did they know that this was going to be their departing kiss.

Michael was over the moon.Vinnie had said,just what he wanted,but was unable to say.
His mind was wandering.He thought about their future life together and smiled to himself. He was not concentrating on his driving and didn't notice when he took a wrong turn. He came back to his senses when a car came from the front in full speed with horn blaring but by then, it was too late. The cars collided with a sudden force.The impact was so harsh that Michael went flying forward into the windshield which shattered into thousand little pieces.The airbag never deployed.
The last thing Michael felt was a piercing sensation all over his body and then there was darkness.

Vinnie's world came crashing down on her. "Mrs. Michael your husband had been in a terrible accident. We tried everything we could do to save him but he didn't make it."Some hospital representative on the other side of the phone informed her.
She was a widow now.
"We are really sorry for your loss."He was saying but Vinnie had already collapsed.

"Shock......rest.......time.....compose." Vinnie could make out the words but didn't get their meaning. Her head felt heavy.
With great effort Vinnie opened her eyes,only to close them again,due to the extreme pain it caused her in doing so.

Fresh tears welled in Vinnie's eyes,threatening to fall any moment. She was in the cemetery with her parents, Anna and Michael's family. A few other relatives and friends also came to attend the funeral.
She watched as the coffin carrying Michael's body or rather,what remained of his 6ft. muscular body, was lowered in the grave.
Tears streamed down her cheeks,this was the last time she was seeing Michael.
She thought that the God was punishing her for being rude and unkind to her parents, by giving her so much happiness and then snatching it back from her or may be it was fate that was twisted. May be she was destined to be the one month bride.
After all,every love story does not necessarily have a happy ending.
