Vinnie was pacing her room.
It was done in pink and white, but mostly pink,by her parents when she was young.Vinnie hated everything about it.She considered it too girly and that's why she added a few black details to it when she grew up.
Vinnie was pondering over her options to inform Michael about the meeting with his parents that her father had demanded. There was a soft thud in the balcony.
Vinnie panicked.Someone was in her room!
She picked up a vase from her dresser and moved cautiously towards the sound.Michael emerged from the glass door, sweeping the net curtains aside,"Hi,sweetie,"he said smiling,"may I come in?"
"You!" Vinnie was shocked to see him,"How did you get up here?"
"I couldn't wait to hear about how it went with your parents,so here I am." he said taking the vase from her hand and putting it on a table near him, "and the answer to your question is,I climbed up the downspout. "
"Shush,Keep your voice down," Vinnie whispered putting a finger on her lips,"my parents might listen and I don't want them to see you here."
"What did your parents say?" Michael whispered back.
Still whispering,Vinnie said,"My father asked me to call you to our house with your parents. "
"Wow,so it went great." Michael said aloud and Vinnie punched his arm.
"Ouch!That hurts." Michael grimaced.
"I didn't know how to contact you so I had decided, may be, I should visit the hospital tomorrow morning,". Vinnie whispered ignoring Michael's agony," I guess,we should exchange numbers."
"Yeah right." Michael said in a low voice, pulling out his cell phone from his jeans pocket.
Once they were done giving each other their numbers,Vinnie said,"Now go," gesturing towards the balcony with her hand,"what time will you come tomorrow? "
"Umm.... I need to ask my parents that.I will call you beforehand." Michael replied.

The next evening, Blake family came to meet the Connors, even Michael's grand mother was there.
The doctors had discharged her recently and prescribed bed rest but she had insisted on coming.
They were all seated in the drawing room, which was furnished with comfortable leather sofas,a love seat, lamps and a few paintings. It had a warm and homely feel to it."You are an MD?" Mr.Connor asked Michael another question,he wanted to get an idea of his financial status to make sure Michael would be able to fulfill his daughter's needs and wishes like he himself had done all her life.
"Yes sir." Michael replied, feeling uneasy under the judging gaze of Vinnie's father. He was bored of this interrogation.Mrs. Connor appeared from the kitchen, pushing a trolley of assorted homemade food items ahead of her, saving him.
Both the families blended together well, talking and laughing about different matters of mutual interests and time flied by quickly.
Towards the end of their meeting,Mr. Blake said,"As I told you, mother will agree for the transplant on only one condition, that is ,Michael's marriage and she desperately need this operation,so I was wondering,if it is fine by you,Mike and Vinnie can marry soon."
"How about tomorrow?" Mrs. Blake said.
"Then tomorrow it is."Mr. Connor replied.
