A nobody to prom queen

Chapter eighteen

'Dad what are we doing today?' I asked him as I walked into the kitchen on Saturday morning. 'Surprise' he smiled as I sat at the kitchen counter. 'Ergh.. But I don't know what to wear' I groaned. 'Something summery' he told me before taking a sip of his tea. 'Ok' I cheerily said getting on my seat and running up to my room.

I looked though my big wardrobe, looking for something summery to wear. 'Hm. This?' I asked myself holding up a blue dress with little pink flowers on it. 'Or this?' I asked holding up a pink floaty dress. I shrieked not knowing which one to wear. 'You ready yet?' Ollie asked as I stood by my wardrobe. 'No' I groaned. 'Just pick for goodness sake' he said rolling his eyes before walking out. 'Blue it is' I said as I put the pink one back in the wardrobe. As I finished putting my dress on, I quickly sprayed some sea salt into my hair so it was wavy. 'Sandals' I muttered to myself looking at my feet. I ran and searched the bottom of my wardrobe to find my favourite golden pair. I put them on before starting to do my makeup. 'Hurry up' ollie shouted. 'One second' I said as I just started my makeup.  

As soon as I finished my makeup I walked out of the room and ran down the stairs.

'Can you just pop this letter over to Anne before we go?' My dad asked as he handed me the letter. 'Sure' I smiled taking the letter from his hand. I strolled over to Harry's house and knocked on. As I waited I looked at my reflection to see If I looked ok incase Harry answered. 'Hello phoebe' Anne smiled as she opened the door. 'Hello' I smiled. 'My dad wanted you to have this' I smiled as I handed over the letter. Behind her I saw a half naked Harry walking up the stairs. He looked to the door and saw me. He blushed and quickly ran up the stairs. A huge smile formed onto my face. 'Well bye' I said walking off. 'Bye hunny' she said. As I walked out I looked up to Harry's bedroom to see him looking out the window. I gave him a little wave. He gave me a smile before shutting the curtains. I laughed then felt a vibration from my phone. I took my phone out of my pocket and saw a text from Harry. 'Did you enjoy the view?;)' as I was about to reply, my dad told me to get into the car. As we drove off I texted back Harry 'very much so ;)'.

My dad stopped the car and I looked out the window. 'I saw this as I was driving home from work it looked pretty cool' he said as we got out the car.

After a few shops we made our way to gilly hicks. 'We'll wait out here' ollie said. 'Fine, but hold these' I said throwing my three bags at them. 'Money' my dad said handing over his wallet. 'Thanks' I said giving him a kiss on the cheek. I went to the underwear section straight away after avoiding the skinny women which made awkward situations. I looked at a few I liked until I chose the four bras I wanted. I only ever got underwear from gilly hicks, the occasional shorts or yoga pants but that was it. As I walked out the overly skinny woman smiled 'hope you've enjoyed your shop at gilly hicks, come again' I walked out to my dad and brother who looked bored out of there minds.

After an hour or so we had lunch at a little retro cafe. 'Hm.. Now this is what I call a burger' ollie laughed at his massive burger.  

After lunch we finished the long road full of some of the best shops. Dad took us in a jewellery shop. 'It's your mum and Is anniversary soon I need to get her something' he said as we walked through the door. 'Not that she deserves it' ollie mumbled. 'What was that?' Dad asked ollie. 'Nothing' he smiled. He looked at the necklaces. 'What about a bracelet?' I suggested. 'That one' he said as he stood behind me. 'Excuse me can I see that bracelet please?' He asked the woman behind the counter. She nodded and got it out. 'Perfect' my dad smiled. 'Is it a gift?' The woman asked. My dad nodded then asked 'my anniversary to my wife' he smiled. She wrapped it up nicely then passed it to my dad after he paid. 'Shall we go home now?' He asked. 'Can I get one more thing?' I smiled as I saw an old fashioned sweet shop. I walked in and brought some raspberry bonbons. 'Now we can go' I smiled as I ate a bonbon. We walked to the car park. As we walked through the car park, dad suddenly dropped the bags his was holding and stumbled back. He looked as if he was looking at something. But what?
