"Vroom, Vroom!" said Nick, dragging his toy car along the wooden floor.

"Oh, no! There;s a monster who's going to eat your Ferari!" exclaimed Will, pointing at the 6 year old girl, Brooke sitting on the bed, watching her two best friends in the whole world play.

As if on cue, the Brooke burped, loudly. The kids erupted with laughter as they laid on the ground, smiling ear to ear.

The sunlight streamed through the windows, highlighting every inch of their 'Super Secret Camp', which consisted of Nick's bed, dresser, closet and dozens and dozens of toys littering the floor. The walls were a light green, Nick's favorite color. Countless amounts of picture frames hung on the wall, which mostly had pictures of Will, Nick, and Brooke at the park, at the pool, at a baseball game, in the back yard, etc. There was a shiny, gold trophy standing on top of Nick's headboard, his new prized possesion. He had just taken up the sport of basketball, and had started classes at the kiddy gym at the community center. The whole room had basketball furniture. Chairs, beanbags, beadspreads, pillows, and even lamps.

Mrs. Walker strolled in the room, almost tripping over a toy train, and annnounced, "PICNIC TIME!!" As the kids scrambled to their feet, whooping and cheering, she opened the window by Nick's bed, creating an open path to their treehouse, towering over their already-too-big house. There was a rope connected to the highest branch that was the closest to the window, which the kids used to get into the treehouse. Nick went first. He swung across, taking the picnic basket in one hand, clutching the rope with the other. Will went next. Grasping the rope with both hands, he swung across, yelling "AAAAAAAA!!!", the tarzan yell. Brooke giggled, as she too, got a hold on the rope, climbing cautiously on the windowsill. She gulped, looking at the ground, 15 feet down below. A light breeze blew her shoulder-length brown hair across her face. Her imagination began to run wild. What if the wind blew her off the rope? She would fall to her certain death, right there in her best friend Nick's back yard. What if the branch that the rope was tied to broke? Certain death. What if the rope got cut by a sharp end of a branch? Certain death. The possiblities were endless. She had been scared of heights ever since she was very little, and her phobia hadn't gone. At least, not yet.

"Brooke!!" Nick's voice jolteed her out of her thoughts. "Coming?" he asked, adding a teasing tone to his question.

"Yeah, yeah," she replied with a scowl, and closed her eyes tight as she pushed off the windowsill and into the treehouse. She peeked a little when her feet hit the solid wood floor, and then let go of the rope, letting it swing back and forth lazily thorugh the air.

Holding back laughter, the boys pulled out their boom box that they always kept hidden beneath a loose plank of wood.

"Thanks, mom!" Nick hollered out the window, waving frantically.

"Your welcome. just yell for me when you guys want to get out, I have to make sure you guys are safe. Now you kids have fun," She replied with a wink.

With the music blasting thorugh the speakers, and the wide assortment of snacks pilling up on the floor, Brooke thought how lucky she was to have her friends and this cozy litttle treehouse. It wasn't that big, but it was sufficient. There was the opening in which they swung through, along with a ladder connecting them to the ground, but no one ever used it. The rope outweighed the ladder in terms of fun. Once you got through the opening, there was a small space where there were three beanbags: green, red, and blue, for each of the kids' favorite colors. As Brooke plopped down on the blue one, Nick on the green, and Will on the red, she looked around the treehouse. There was a tiny window over looking the backyard and the woods beyond. Since this tree was the tallest among many as far as 2 miles far, they could see the whole horizon from here. In the Big Room, as they called it, was also a little door adjoining them to a smaller, much tidier room, which the kids used for 'secret mission gadget storage'. There was a small ladder that connected to the roof, where there was a door that opened out, so the kids could climb on the roof and watch the stars. Basically, this was the kids' ultimate hangout.

As they made up fantasy stories about superheroes ninjas, and princesses, Brooke thought that life could get no better.
