Running Towards Fate (High School of the Dead FanFiction)

ACT TWO: ESCAPE FROM THE DEAD

(Two people wanted me to update .... THANK YOU FOR ASKING!! HERE IS THE NEXT UPDATE!!!)

The zombies groaned as they neared Bea, their mouths gapped, wanting to bite into her warm flesh and make her one of their own. She swung around her javelin, trying to fend off the undead. Sweat and tears darkened her white sweatshirt as she cried out for help, waving the javelin and stabbing at the zombie students. Her mind was racing as she tried to process what, just a bit over an hour ago, was a normal school with alive students and not a wrecked school filled with zombies for students. She backed into a zombie and screamed as it wrapped its bloody, grey arms around her. She held on tightly to her weapon and struggled as the zombie opened its mouth, staring at her pink flesh as it went in to bite her. She squeezed her eyes shut and waited. Nothing happened. No feeling of pain, or her life flashing before her eyes, nothing. She opened her eyes to see an orange haired student shaking her shoulders, her lips moved but she couldn't hear anything the girl said.

"What...?" she asked, her Australian accent thick.

"I said," she could suddenly hear the girl's voice. "Are you okay, you weren't bitten?"

"No, I'm – I'm okay," shuttered Bea. "What's going on?"

"We'll tell you that when we find out," a brown haired man wacked a zombie over its head and looked at her. "First, let's get out of here."

"Who are you?" asked Bea as they ran down the hallways of the school.

"I'm Rei," said the girl, flashing a quick smile. "What's your name?"

"Bea," said Bea, returning Rei's smile.

"Takashi," said the boy as they turned around the corner to see a pink haired girl and an overweight brown haired boy surrounded by zombies.

The pink haired girl had a drill that she had stuck into the head of a zombie, screaming for somebody to help her. Something sparked deep inside Bea's stomach and she leaped into action along with a purple haired girl, Rei and Takashi. They all attacked the zombies until there were none left. Bea looked down at her white sweatshirt and brown shorts to see that they were covered in the zombies' blood that she had hacked at with her javelin. Her breathing slowed down as she looked at the pink haired girl looking at the blood from the zombie, gasping and sobbing.

"Takagi-"started the overweight boy but stopped as Rei and a large chested blonde ran past him, the blonde smacking him with her boob on the way.

"Takagi, are you okay?" asked Rei and the pink haired girl said something that Bea didn't catch and she turned around to see a purple haired student walk up to Takashi as he closed the door.

"You already know the school doctor, Marikawa, right?" asked the girl and then she introduced herself. "And I'm Saeko Busujima, from class 3a."

"I'm Takashi Komuro from class 2b," Takashi introduced himself to Saeko as Rei stood up.

"Mrs Busujima, I remember you won the national companionship last year," Rei said, a tiny smile on her lips as the overweight man stood up rubbing his head. "I'm Rei Miyamoto; I'm in the Spear Martial Arts club."

"I'm Bea Voss, I was going to enrol here for a couple of mouths while I competed," Bea introduced herself and bowed.

"Oh and I'm ... I'm Kohta Hirano from class b just FYI," the overweight boy said, still rubbing his head.

"Hm, nice to meet you," Saeko smiled and Kohta gasped a dark blush on his face as Takagi stood up.

"Why are you guys being all warm and fuzzy?" Takagi said and everyone turned to her. "Why are you being so polite Miyamoto? You flunked last year, you're at the same age, she's not your elder!"
