Everyone crowed in the small room as they listened to the news report talk. Bea couldn't take it and went over to the door as the other thought up a plan, talking about getting the bus from the carpark and getting out of the school. Bea knew that she had to do something else before she could join them and picked up her javelin, weighting it in her hands before she slowly opened the door.

"Bea, where are you going?" Bea nearly jumped out of her skin when Takashi magically appeared behind her, his hand on the door to prevent her from opening it.

"I have someone that I need to go see right now, they were in the parking lot when I came in," Bea explained but Takashi didn't buy it.

"We need to stick together so that we have a fighting chance," he said and pulled Bea away from the door by her arm.

"No!" Bea protested, shaking out of his grip. "I need to go now or she may not make it out alive! Please, I need to know if she's okay!"

"We need to stay together," Rei said and Bea huffed, deciding it might be best if she stayed with them.

After a couple more minutes of planning, everyone agrees to team up. Takashi kept glaring at Bea which made Rei glare at her until everyone was glaring at her. She suddenly felt very aware and covered her chest, hating the fact that Takashi looked very hot and that he kept looking at her. Everyone geared up and opened the door. Kohta shot two zombies and then it was go time. Everyone rushed out of the room following after Takashi, who was in front smashing zombies and Bea wacked any zombies that came near her. Once they made it to the stairs, Saeko explained about not fighting against zombies unless you have to and told everyone about their super strength and how they're very sensitive to sound. That's when they moved out again and heard a girl scream. They found some other students and leaped into action. Saeko jumped from the railing and started battling against the zombies while Takashi ran down the stairs to battle against some zombies of his own and Bea also decided that she needed to toughen up and pull her weight, so she did was Saeko did and jumped off the railing, battling against the undead. The student thanked them and Saeko asked them if anyone was bitten and Takashi asked if they wanted to come with them. They all agree and shortly found themselves at the stairs near front door. There was a small argument about who was going to go down and test what Takagi thought that the zombies only reacted to sound. Once he got down there, a zombie walked past him and Takashi threw a shoe, leading all the zombies in a different direction to where the living wanted to go. Saeko and Takashi opened the front doors for everyone and they all rushed out. One of the boys from the group they recued early was walking down the stairs when his weapon tapped the railing, sending out a sound that told the undead where they were. Everyone gasped as Takashi screamed for everyone to run.

"Why did you open your big mouth?" Takagi asked, getting really made at Takashi. "We could've made it if we took down the ones close by if you hadn't said anything!"

A zombie appeared behind Takagi and Bea jumped in, whacking the zombie away with a powerful hit form her javelin and Takagi screamed loudly. Bea didn't waste any more time and run ahead, getting rid of some of the zombies that were in her way. She then heard Takashi tell everybody to run, but she was already way ahead by then. She heard screaming behind her and knew that someone had been attacked by a zombie. She was already waiting by the bus and helped Takashi and Saeko battle the undead out of their way. Takashi was about to close the door when Takashi saw a teacher and some students appeared. Takashi and Rei argued about not saving the teacher and Bea saw a woman running among them.

"Please, we need to wait for them!" Bea said and they did wait, much to her relief.

"Hang on," said Doctor Marikawa when everyone was on and she put her foot down.

There was a bucket load of zombies that she drove over before they drove though the fence and out onto the road.

"I can't believe we did it," Bea heard Takashi say as she turned to a woman with short brown hair and dark skin.

"Chiyo," cried Bea as the woman engulfed her in a bear hug. "I'm so glad you're safe! Where were you?"

"I was with Mr. Shido," Chiyo said and her sky blue eyes flickered over to said man as he walked down the bus.

"You were with that guy?" Bea asked and Chiyo nodded. "We'd you manage to find him?"

"The internet," said Chiyo dreamily as Mr. Shido talked to Saeko about something that Bea wasn't paying any attention to because she was too busy talking to Chiyo.

"He's quiet the masterpiece," Bea nodded and sat down next to Chiyo in the back, leaning her javelin on the seat next to her. "You've got another good one again, Chiyo."

"Thanks ... he's such a good kisser," Bea wasn't so sure whether she was meant to hear the last part or not so she didn't say anything about it. "You can borrow him sometime if you want."

"What?" Bea was gobsmacked when Chiyo said she could 'borrow' Mr. Shido. "No thanks, I'd rather let you have the guys."

"Suite yourself," Chiyo said, shrugging her shoulders as she stared at Mr. Shido.

Bea suddenly felt tried and quickly fell asleep, only waking up when she heard clapping. Mr. Shido was making a speech about leadership and she decided that it wasn't worth tuning into so she closed her eyes again and tried to grasp onto her dream.

Young Bea sat alone on a lone swing in the playground of the Homeless Children Centre. She swung too and fro, her feet dragging on the ground. She'd already been in the Homeless Centre for three years and nobody wanted to take her in. She watched the other kids play soccer and other sports, thinking about how she was really good at them but no one ever asked her to play. Bea bowed her head, her long hair covering her face and cutting her off from the world and the screaming children in it. She heard footsteps but didn't look up because she thought it was one of the workers at the centre coming to check on her and ask, like many times before, why she wasn't playing with the other kids.

"Who's this?" asked a man's voice and she looked up to see a dark skinned man and woman standing before her with one of the workers. "Why is she by herself and not with the other kids?"

"Oh, this is Bea," said the worker, smiling sweetly at Bea. "She's a bit of a loner or the kids don't like her, I don't know which one it is."

"Poor dear," said the woman and she kneeled down in front of Bea, a soft smile on her lips. "Can she come home with us?"

"If Chiyo likes her, we sure can," said the man and he pushed forward a small dark skinned girl, who looked down at the ground shyly. "Say hi Chiyo."

"Hello ... Bea, right?" asked the girl, recalling what the worker had said and Bea nodded, her face reddening. "I'm Chiyo, it's nice to meet you and I hope we can be friend!"

"She likes her, we'll take her home with us!" said the woman. "I'm Mrs. Voss and this is Mr. Voss, but you can call us Mum and Dad."

"Sweetie, don't rush her," said Mr. Voss and Chiyo held out her hand. "But we do need to get going."

"Come on, Bea! I wanna show you all my toys!" Chiyo cried and wiggled her fingers when Bea didn't take her hands. "Bea?"

"O-okay ... I hope we can be friend too..." Bea took Chiyo's hand and they both smiled, feeling a deep connection from the moment their skin touched.
