"Alright Aubrey, we will be seeing you back here in a month. Before you leave go to the front desk down this hallway and schedule a date," Dr. Shaw went over last minute details with me before I could be released.

I looked over at Colton and smiled. Although I had a break down when I first discovered the news, I was rather excited. I've always wanted children so I was just getting to them  earlier on in my life. In no way did I view this child as a bad thing. He or she was a gift.

"Oh, one more thing. You're prescriptions for your head will be given to you at the front desk. I'm going to send a nurse in here and she will tell you all about your prenatal care, alright?"

"Sounds good." I gave the doctor a brave smile.

Smiling back, he began to retreat to the door. "You're a brave girl Aubrey. See you next month."

"This is really happening," Colton stood up from his chair and sat on the edge of my bed.

Nodding slowly, I agreed, "It really is."

"What's the deal with us now? Are we gonna get together? How is Chad going to fit in this equation?" Colton brought down my happy mood. I didn't want to be discussing that right now. It was the least of my concerns.

Saving me from answering Colton, my mom walked in the room. "Good morning! So sorry I'm a bit late. The kids really didn't want to go to daycare today."

Colton's face dropped. He wasn't happy that my mom barged in, ruining the conversation. I had a feeling we would have to talk about this again.

"What's the deal for today, Aubs? Oh, what happened last night? Who's the father?" My mom seemed to be very interested in the whole situation.

I'm so thankful my mom wasn't mad at me. Most of the time, parents seem to want to disown their children when they confess they're pregnant. I guess my mom was able to calm down like myself.

"Colton's the father," I smiled, glancing in Colton's direction.

My mom's head turned to look at him too. I tried to read her face but no expression was displayed. I hope she wasnt' counting on the baby to be Chad's.

Clicking her tongue, my mom spoke very softly, "You better take good care of this baby and my daughter. You'll need to get a job. Hell, you'll probably have to marry her."

"Whoa, mom. Too far. Can we not think about marriage yet?" I wasn't ready to get married. I could handle this baby but there's no way I was going to make a commitment that huge when I'm still in high school.

Colton came closer to the two of us, "Aubrey, I think your mom is right. We should think about marriage and how we are going to pay for everything."

In the perfect moment, someone knocked on the door. "Nurse Judy."

"Come in!' I called. I thanked her in my head for coming at the perfect moment. It saved me from having an uncomfortable conversation.

Nurse Judy came in the room with a smile on her face. She clutched onto a bag and a clipboard as she sat down on a stool. "Happy to see me for the last time?"

I coudln't help but giggle, "You know I don't mind you."

"Oh, I'm sure. Well let's just get this over because I'm sure you want to get home. You and your boyfriend look beyond exhausted."

I opened my mouth to protest but decided to shut up. It'd be a huge slap in the face to him if I totally called out that he's not my boyfriend.

Sighing Judy peered down on her clipboard, '"Before I begin, do you have any questions?"

"Nope." I actually just wanted to get this over with now that she started talking. I wasn't in the mood to listen. All I could think about right now is getting home.

"Alright. So, you will be given a prenatal vitamin with about 800 micrograms of folic acid. It's very important you take this every day. The vitamin is even more important during the early stages of your pregnancy. Dr. Shaw and I strongly encourage you taking the folic acid all throughout your pregnancy."

Moving from where she was standing, my mom spoke up,"Aubrey I took it when I was pregnant with you and your siblings. It's safe to take."

"What does it do?" I curiously asked. For the past couple days I've been getting so much information but no one was being specific enough with me.

Judy spoke clearly, making sure I'd understand. "It's very helpful with the production of red blood cells and things like that. In these baggy it has more information on everything I'm telling you right now."

Nodding again, I hoped she'd continue quickly.

"I'm pretty sure you already know this but I'm required to tell you. You need to change your lifestyle now that your pregnant. No smoking, drinking, or any time of drugs. It's mostly just little things that you need to change but they're all very important."

"Am I allowed to eat certain foods?" I bite my lip. I'm sure some of my favorites might get cut out of my diet.

Looking in what seemed to be the 'distance,' Judy pondered the thought. "You need to make sure you eat healthy. No raw or undercooked meats. The packet in the bag goes over that much better."

"Thank you, Judy. You've been a great help."

Standing up slowly, Judy grinned. "You'll be okay. Just make sure you take care of yourself and the baby. Oh, make sure you take your prescription for your head. I need to get going. Someone's paging me. Bye, see you next month."

In unision, Colton, my mom, and I all said bye. We all sat there awkwardly not knowing what to do.

"I think we should all get together for dinner tonight. Would you guys like to come over? My mom is a really good cook." Colton shrugged his shoulders up. He was just the sweetest boy ever. It was so unfair how I treated him.

Speaking for me, my mom grinned, "That sounds lovely. See you then."

My day was just going great. I haven't heard from Chad. I'm pregnant. I'm not having my boyfriend's baby. Now I have to go have dinner at my baby daddy's house.
