Nearly choking on her food, my mom protested. "Aubrey is barely seventeen years old. She is not getting married."
"Lori, it's something we need to consider. She's having a baby," Courtney tried to reason with her.
Shaking her head, my mom nearly shouted, "I don't think it's a good idea. She's in a relationship as it is. Do you want her just to give up that?"
My eyes darted around the table. I wasn't sure who to look at. Both my mom and Colton's were getting angrier. You could see my mother's pale face turn red.
"She's pregnant. I'm sure giving up some silly high school relationship isn't going to be the most she has to give up," Courtney was getting as mad as my mother.
The comment pissed me off. Chad and mine's relationship wasn't a 'silly high school relationship.' I don't care that we were fighting I still loved him and he loved me.
Speaking up, I joined the conversation, "I'm sorry but my relationship is none of your business. Oh, not trying to be rude but I'm not giving it up just because I'm pregnant. Colton and I will just have to work something out."
I glanced over at Colton. His attention was off in space. He was doing everything he could just to keep his eyes away from mine. Whenever I brought up that I was going to be with Chad, Colton got this way. Although he would never admit it, it killed him.
Not wanting things to get out of hand, Chris put in his input, "Look, we just found out the news the other day. Let's just have a nice dinner and we can talk about the important things another day, alright?"
No one said a word for the rest of the meal.

Climbing into my bed, I curled up in my covers. My fans blasted a cooling air giving me the chills. I loved being cold when I slept.
"Aubrey!" My mother's voice called from downstairs.
Sighing, I yelled back to her , "Mom, I'm going to bed. Love you!"
"No, come down here. You have a visitor."
Not wanting to be rude, I pulled the blankets from my body. Slowly, I climbed out of my comfort and headed to the stairs.
I knew Colton was here. He probably wanted to come over to say sorry for the dinner. I felt like I needed to say sorry myself. This whole thing wouldn't have happened if Colton and I weren't more careful.
Rubbing my eyes, I reached the bottom of the stairs.
"Aubrey," a voice I wasn't expecting called for me.
Opening my eyes, I found myself staring at Chad. He looked terrible. His eyes were bloodshot and all puffy. He was dressed as he didn't bother to match a single article of clothing.
Confused as to why he was here, I spoke up, "Chad, what are you doing here?"
Catching me off guard, Chad stumble forward. My arms reached out to catch him from falling. I didn't want him to hurt himself or let the noise wake my siblings.
Chad tried to stand up by pulling himself up from the stair railing. He struggled for moments before I helped him. I kept one hand around his arm in case he fell again.
"Listen, I've had a rough couple nights. It's your fault too," Chad scolded me, sending his alcohol scented breath right in my face.
Chad's breath was just disgusting. He must have been drinking for hours. I wondered how the hell he was able to get to my house without causing a car accident. I sure hoped he walked or something. His speech let on that he was in no condition to be driving a car.
"Chad, how did you get here? You didin't drive di-"
Cutting me off, Chad pushed a finger to my lips, "Shut your mouth. Let me talk."
"Let's go upstairs? I'm tired. We need to sleep," I tried to get him out of the foyer. I was scared my mother might be listening. I'm sure if she was she would never let me be with Chad. If she knew half the things Chad did she wouldn't let me be with him. The more I thought about it, I really shouldn't be with him. He's not a good person.
Breaking my thoughts, Chad disagreed, "No. I'm angry with you. I'm not gonna fuck you. Well I will, actually. Angry sex sounds so hot right now."
He was too drunk to even have a normal conversation with. Dumbing my voice down, I tried again. "No, Chad. We aren't having sex. I'm pregnant, remember? We are just going to go to sleep."
Wagging his finger in my face, Chad raised his voice. "Oh I know your pregnant, by that little fucker too. That's why I'm here. We need to talk about that."
I needed to get him in my room or out of my house. He was going to wake my brother and sister and piss my mother off. I didn't trust him to leave so I decided to try to get him to come to bed again. "Chad, you're drunk. Can we please just go to sleep and we can talk when you're sober."
Smiling like an idiot, he whisped, "I'm not drunk at all."
Trying not to laugh, I whispered back, "You're funny. Come on, let's go upstairs."
Without letting him argue you back, I grabbed onto his hand. Gripping onto me tight, Chad followed me up to my room. I smiled as we walked into my room, glad he came.
"Come suck my dick," Chad smirked, unbuckling his belt.
Shutting my door, I cringed. Chad was piss drunk. It was actually sad. "I've told you already, we aren't having sex. Okay?"
I felt like I was lecturing a five year old and not my eighteen year old boyfriend. Part of me was angry that he showed up so drunk but the other part was happy to see him. I just wish he would remember tonight and be able to make it up to me.
Not saying another word to him, I climbed back into my bed. Hoping he would follow my actions, I curled up and got comfortable.
After a few minutes of muttering words to himself, Chad climbed into bed. He scooted his body over to me, letting our skin touch. I thanked god for somehow making sure he kept his cloths on.
"I wanna break up," Chad whispered in my ear.
My heart stopped. I could feel my face shade into a shocking pale. Trying to stay calm, I blew him off, "That's just the alocohol talking. Go to sleep."
"No, Aubrey. It's over. Let's just have one more night though," Chad's alcohol filled breath danced on my skin.
Shaking my shoulder, I got him to move his body away from me. I sure hope when we woke up he would admit he was drunk and didn't mean a word he said.
