I followed my mom into the house, feeling slightly jumpy. I slowly walked down the hall. Maybe a hot shower would calm me down, that always helps when I’m worried. I turned on the warm water before stripping down, and stepping in. After my shower, I wrapped my towel tightly around my body, before walking to my room to change into a comfy pair of sweats and a loose T-shirt. I crawled into bed, pulling the covers up above my head, trying to fall asleep. It took a while for sleep to finally come – I was worried about Moose, and whatever was out there with him.
With a loud sigh, I turned to a small clock placed on the floor. It read “11:00 pm” in large, red letters. I really needed to sleep for my first day of school the next day. I just needed to take a deep, calm breath to let sleep take me…

When I woke up, it was still kind of dark. The sun wasn’t out, but you could tell it was morning. I groggily got out of bed, going straight to my closet. I pulled out a pair of normal jeans with holes down the legs, and one blue and one white tank top to wear, along with an old zip-up jacket. After getting dressed, I put on a little bit of black eyeliner and mascara, before heading into the kitchen to make some waffles for breakfast.
After a few minutes, my mom entered the kitchen, dressed as well. I could see her looking out the window curiously, scanning the area.
“Do you think he’s alright?” I asked, suddenly reminded of Moose.
“Who?” my mom asked, turning around to face me.
“The dog,” I said in a ‘duh’ tone.
“Oh. Yes, I do. He’s smart. He’ll find his way home.” She spoke with such confidence, I wasn’t too worried. This wasn’t the first time we’d moved, nor was it the first time he had wandered off for a while. It was the first time he hadn’t come back within a couple hours, though. Checking the time on my phone, I got up.
“Time for school. See you later, mum,” I smiled, before putting my dish away, and grabbing my back pack and class schedule from by the door. When I walked out the door, I looked over the flower bed that stretched along the whole expansion of the house. By the steps, and below the windows I noticed little purple flowers, ones like the ones I had fallen by last night. They looked so pretty. I slowly reached down, pulling one from it’s stem so I could put it in my car. Purple was my favorite color, so I couldn’t help loving it after one glance.
The drive to the school wasn’t that bad. I’d figured out how to get there the day before, so I [luckily] didn’t get lost on the way. A few people where already in the parking lot, waiting for their friends, I presume. I trudged into the building. I had a good fifteen minutes to explore the campus before needing to get to class. I took the opportunity to be sure I knew where the bathrooms and cafeteria were. Finding the rooms for my subjects was pretty easy, too. Each room had the letter for the building, and the room number, with the first number being which floor level it was on.
After venturing for a while, the first bell rang, warning the students they had five minutes to get to class. I hurried off, knowing I was on the other side of the school. Weaving through the crowd of bodies was difficult, and getting curious glances for being the new girl didn’t help that much. It just made things awkward.
When I entered the class, the first few students, most likely the ones that always go straight to class instead of talking out in the halls, were in their seats. I walked over to the teacher’s desk, telling him I was new. With a warm smile, he welcomed me to the school, and pointed to a vacant seat for me to take.
A while after I had become situated, more and more students began to file in, filling the room with the loud buzz of mixed voices all trying to speak over one another. I slowly turned around as I felt a light tap on my shoulder. I turned around to come face to face with a boy. His brown hair covered his eyes until he flipped it to the side.
“So you’re the new girl,” he smiled. I noticed he almost had a crooked smile.
“Uh, yeah, I guess,” I nodded.
“I’m Bo,” he stuck a hand out for me to shake. I extended my arm, grasping his hand in my own.
“Emma,” I replied, disconnecting the shake.
“Well, Emma, it’s nice to meet you. Would you like an escort around campus?”
“That would be awesome,” I nodded thankfully. Bo smiled, walking to his seat as the final bell rang. I watched him walk behind the class to sit in a desk in the very back, next to a boy with bleach blonde hair. They spoke for a moment before the blonde looked over at me and smiled. I couldn’t help but return the expression. With a faint blush, I turned toward the front of the room to pay attention to the class.
The rest of the day went by fairly fast. Bo showed me to each of my classes, none of which included the blondie from first period. I learned that Bo is a pretty popular boy- he knew many people as we walked down the halls. I also learned that his favorite color is yellow, that he loves Pineapples, and that he is currently single. I found that last part to be quite a shocker. He was a very good looking boy, though he was quickly becoming a really good friend to me.

Chapter two:) My next upload probably won't be for about three weeks. :/ Tomorrow I'm going to a family reunion until Monday. And then Tuesday I'm going to my friends house so we can leave to go camping early. And we won't be back until next Sunday. And then I'll need to write another chapter before I can upload one.
