I walked up the stairs to the sophomore hall, headed for my locker. It's right next to Mr. Williams's door, the biology teacher, who kind of looks like Johnny depp. I am almost there when a big figure steps in front of it. I look up to see Jace. Jace isn't fat, but he's just so muscular that it makes him big, not to mention he's 6'5.
"Whats up 'Lise?"
"Nothing, it's only the second week of school and I'm already sick of it."
"I hear ya. So you going bowling with us?"
"Yeah I guess so."
The first bell echoes through the halls.
"Jace, I gotta get to my locker!"
"What's the password?"
"Move?"
Silence
"Please?"
He merely laughed and continued off to class. I shook my head and quickly got my first half-of-the-day's worth of books. I lightly jogged to art. Right now we're drawing laundry on a line. I got out my folder and went to go sit with my group. Mrs. Juneon must hate me, she put me in a group with 3 immature guys. I can't wait for drawing models...ugh! I sat down in the middle of a conversation about a girl. I listened for a mili-second and turned around to start drawing.
"What's the matter Annalise? Don't wanna talk today hmmm?" a mock baby voice cried.
"Not particularly"
"Why not?"
"I have nothing to say?"
"Boys! Shouldn't you be drawing?" Mrs. Juneon came over. Small woman but assertive, to say the least.
"We would if we had pencils!"
"They're in your hands! Today I won't tolerate this, if you don't start drawing you'll be going down to detention."
With that, they started drawing, but not the laundry. I try to ignore them and continue trying to shade correctly.
It was 5 minutes until class was over when Mrs. Juneon made her rounds to the groups, commenting on student's work. She made it to my table.
"Analise, this is a good start, remember to take care on proportions"
There was a long pause when she looked at the boys' work.
"Get out!"
"But there's only 5 minutes left!"
"I don't care, get out! You were supposed to draw the laundry!"
"You just said 'draw'"
She didn't say anymore, just pointed toward the door. They all packed up their stuff and left.
The rest of the day went by without anymore conflict. I met up with Vince and the rest after 9th period.
