Ch. 3

Recap: back to find the second note...

I heave myself off the couch and head up to my room, since obviously the note wasn't on the couch. Haha. Walking up the stairs, I intentionally dragged my feet, looking at all the family pictures on the stairwell. I saw all the younger pictures with my brother... We were all so happy. I mean of course we are now, well except for the topic of my bitch ex. Pardon.

Anyway... I miss my brother. We were so close. We rarely got in fights, he always gave me advice on anything I needed, well except for like girl stuff you know. That's what my mom was for.

As I continued up the stairs, I stop in the middle of the balcony. I love this house. ❤ I walked into my room. Oh yeah my room is pretty cool. I'm gonna give up on that scavenger hint for awhile and just sit. I'm exhausted.

I looked around my room. Yes, model home look, but also very me.

It was a half octagon-half rectangle- shaped room, if you understand what that looks like. In the rectangle half, was my daybed in one corner, and the wall opposite that had the bathroom. My bathroom was pretty normal. Just a shower. On the wall closest to my brother's room, there was my walk in closet.

I flopped down on my daybed and cuddled up. I loved my daybed. It was one of those huge, circular, giant cat beds!! On it was a purple (my fave color) comforter. There was paintings on the wall, and a walk in closet by the cat. (Btw, the cat's name is Ellie. Don't hate.)

On the half-octagon side of my room, the doorway was in the... Corner? The wall on the same side of the room as the window had a flatscreen tv in the wall and a couch-sized beanbag in front of it.

The fridge is opposite that wall, and there was a big fluffy rug in the middle of that. Next to the rug, is a bookshelf. Yeah you're probably thinking, 'wow Tay, isn't that lame. Where's the next note?' Oh right I still need to find that.

Before I do though, this bookshelf is important. There's this one book, I'm not gonna tell you which one because only Arianna and I know which one it is. Anyway, pull that book, and the bookshelf swings open. I swear to God. Inside is my real 'sleeping place.' It has a loft bed type thing that swings from the ceiling, and yeah that's about it. It has light purple walls and dark almost black indigo/violet fluffy carpet. Oh and there is a pop and a snack machine in there.

Again, I got off my fat ass and looked for the note. Oh. It was taped to Ellie's paw. I picked it up to read it.

"You are... Not even halfway through this honey! Haha, your next clue is in a place where you spend too much time during the summer. (: good luck.

Love, Mom. "

Ok well that could be my bed or the pool, and this one was on one of my beds, so I'm assuming it's in the pool. Also, Mom knows about the room but she's only been in there once and doesn't know the book to open it.

Walking back downstairs to head out the door I hear people getting up. What?! I look at the clock. 7:30. Ok well that makes sense. My mom comes into the living room as I go to head outside to the pool. She looks half asleep still.

"Hey honey.. Uh, have you.. Uh..."

I can tell if she's asking about finding the note in my laptop.

"Yes mom, I am at the 3rd note," I say.

"Oh! Ok good well let me know if you need help."

I give her a dramatic astonished face. "Me? Need help? Never!" Letting out a battle cry I run outside. I hear her laughing as I close the door.

Ok well the pool is not the size of my bed obviously, so the note could be anywhere. I start looking around by the chairs and diving board, and the other various things by the pool. I glance over at the window as I'm looking under a chair cushion. In the window I see my mom giggling at my success... Not. I stick my tongue or at her and resume searching.

Found it. Just need to get to it. Damn you, Mother. It is in the middle of the pool. Like the very middle. Of the fricking pool. Gahhhh it's in a glass bottle (how did she even manage to find one??), so it is floating. How am I going to do this?? Grabbing one of the floaty chairs, I take off my sweatpants, but not my sweatshirt; I'm still cold. I slowly float out into the middle of the pool, and grab the bottle. Now to get out. Shiz. I wish I would have gotten something to help me, like a paddle.

My dad came outside, dressed for work, and stood in the doorway. "Decide to go for a morning swim, eh Tay?"

"No dad, I'm getting my car," I say.

He comes up to the side of the pool. "Well I'm pretty sure you aren't gonna find it in there."

"Gee, thanks Dad. Now can you help me out?"

"No can do M'lady. Strict orders from the chief," He said, gesturing to the window. My mom eagerly waved and smiled.

"Guhhhhhh, but Dad!" I whined.

He smiled and walked back inside, leaving me in the middle of the pool. Oh, fatherly love.

I eventually waded myself over to the side and managed to get out with only a wet foot.

My mom called out the kitchen window "You know you need to put the chair away!"

Crap. "Uhh me and Ari will go in the pool later!! Can she come over by the way?" I said. Ha.

"Sure honey, you know you don't really need to ask unless something is going on, she practically lives here."

True story. "Ok thanks Mom!!"

I sat on the side of the pool and stuck my feet in, while reading the note.

"Your next clue will be in a place you visit often throughout the day to relieve yourself. (; -Mom"

Ewwww Mom. The bathroom, really?

I headed BACK up to my room to find the fourth note.

As I walked up the stairs I pulled out my iPhone and called Ari.

"Hello? This is Arianna"

"You kidding me Ari?" I say

"I'm kidding babe, what's up? How are you?"

"I'm ok, do you wanna come over in about an hour? I got a new car, but it's not outside and it could be anywhere. My mom made a scavenger hunt to find it."

"Eeep!!!" She squeals. "Of course!! I will be over at 10."

I look at the clock. It's 9. I rolled my eyes, silently laughing at how she was so serious about an hour. "Ok see you soon babe."

"Bye Tay Tay."

Off to the shower.

Ok guys, so since it is summer I will probably be updating more often, maybe 3/4 times a week. Hang in there, we will get to the boys soon. Love you guys! 12 reads... Wow.
