I was sitting with Hope on my knees while I told Jackson, Aiden and Hayley what Klaus had just informed me of.

"Okay. Good news? Dahlia still doesn't know that we're here. Bad news? She's given us until tomorrow night, and then she's coming for Hope."

Jackson walks up to me as I stand and lowers his voice.

"Well, I say we get the hell out of here."

I closed my eyes and sighed. "Jack . . . I told you that I will not take Hope away from her father. I know Klaus. If I did that, he would punish me by hurting you and the pack or worse. Besides, Freya said that Dahlia was drawn to Hope's magic. It doesn't matter if we run, she's still gonna be able to track us! At least this place is spelled, no one can do magic here. Not Hope or Dahlia."

"Sure, this place is spelled but we've seen bigger magic than this break. I say we run while we can."

I put Hope in her playpen.

"It's a risk, either way. She's just so little. It's not fair. Witchcraft, magical spells. She didn't ask for any of this," I raised my head, getting an idea. "Which means that she wouldn't miss it if it was gone."

Hayley and Jackson looked at me in confusion.

"Maybe that's it? Dahlia could only sense her when she's using magic. So what if there's a way of stopping her from doing it in the first place?"

Hayley frowned. "She's just a baby. How are we gonna do that?"

"I have an idea," I told them. "Although . . . it's dangerous. Especially now."

"Let me do it," Aiden said.

The three of us looked at him.

I shook my head. "I can't ask you to do this."

"Nina, it's okay. I want to do this. I know you've been questioning your place in the pack."

I frowned at him and looked at Hayley, who shrugged, not knowing how he knew.

"Who told you that?" I asked.

He looked at Jackson and I followed his gaze, giving my brother an incredulous look.

"Look, I just want you to know that I got no problem with you being a hybrid."

"I'm sure not everyone agrees with you," I murmured.

"It doesn't matter," Aiden countered. "You are one of us now, Nina and besides, we would still be cursed without you."

I smiled, appreciating what he said.

"Let me get what you need to protect Hope."

I looked at Hayley and Jackson before my gaze returned to Aiden. "Okay, but please be careful."

"I will."

I told Aiden to retrieve the no-magic shackles from the compound and get them to Davina so that she could transfer the spell attached to them to a smaller object so that they would work on a baby. He left immediately and I sighed, hoping this would work.

Some time later, I turned my head when I heard something and saw vines growing, climbing up the wall outside the entrance to where my pack and I were. What the hell?

Upon further inspection, I saw that there were flowers attached.

"They're dahlias," I realized. "She knows we're here."
