The door to the room I'm sitting
In opens hesitantly and in steps a boy around my age with the whole deer-caught-in-headlights look about him.
This guy is at least about 6' and has the whole gangly nerd thing going on,including the glasses. As soon as he steps fully into the room his eyes literally dart across my whole body like he's checking for something before he breaks into a pretty shy but relieved grin.
"Hey I'm Peter. I guess this is pretty weird because this random guy just like kidnapped you and now you're here with some big weirdo that probably looks about 12 but also looks like your dad at the same time and it's weird for me too so yeah"
Peter ends up trailing off from his lecture about him looking like my dad and smiling sheepishly at me again before walking forward to shake my hand and managing to thump his head off the hanging light switch. Poor Peter, he's honestly a clumsy mess.
I suppose I'm also a mess considering I'm just sitting here with two guys that could just do anything they wanted, although I'm pretty sure Peter would end up getting a concussion trying to grab me.
"Peter lives from around here and is going to be travelling with us" James explains while trumping across the room and picking up a bit of chalk that was left in some corner.
He then bends over and begins drawing a circle on the wooden floor boards and adding swirling details around the circle shape itself.
"So basically this is the shape you're going to want to draw in your head when you're trying to enter Ordiran. It's pretty simple and all you have to do is fine your element and picture the circle made out of your element. Obviously for now I'm going to draw the portal but you should be able to do it soon enough"
With that he closes his eyes and uses his pointer finger to shape the circle in his mind. I feel James brush up against my arm, almost as curious about what's about to happen as I am and suddenly with a loud POP, there's a circular dark wooden door painted with rich gold detail.
"Well children, off we go"
