The car pulls up outside the house and I shove open the door and run inside, Heading up the stairs towards my bedroom. The tears I didn't even realise existed are coming down fast and furious and I throw the now wrecked dress in a pile in the corner of my room. I close the curtains and slide down the wall till I'm sitting on my butt on the floor, Pulling my hands through my hair. I feel so useless since I know there was nothing I could have done to fix the dress or to stop the heartless guy throwing the paint at me. I stand up suddenly, Making myself dizzy in the process, and head to the bathroom attached to my bedroom. I start rooting through my cupboard above the sink until my fingers graze the smooth surface of the bottle containing hair bleach. Perfect, I think to myself.

An hour later and I'm standing at my full body mirror looking at myself. The bleach did change the colour of my hair but not the way I expected. I gently touch my now violet hair with my fingers, Like it was some sort of dream that I would wake from if I wasn't careful. ''Violet You have been in here-'' My aunt begins to scream while barging into my room, Stopping in mid sentence as soon as she notices me.
"V y-your hair It's... ''
"I'm sorry! I know it was stupid'' I cry, Hoping she would understand.
I wait for her to scream or tell me how she is disappointed in me but it never comes she just laughs
"That's not what I was going to say; I love it, you look like a fairy v'' She sighs leaning against the wall.
"It was an accident... I meant to bleach it blond'' I say gently.
"You look like your mother when she was your age... God I miss her I-'' She breaks of sobbing gently. I get off the bed and walk over to where she is standing, Holding a old photograph. I squint in the light and stare at the picture. In curly writing at the top it says ''Lilly's 16th birthday'' and below is a picture of a beautiful girl about my age with white hair tinged slightly pink, Smiling with perfect white teeth and dimples. A tear escapes my eye and trickles down my face, Landing on the picture making it slightly wet.
"She was so pretty... And young. Too young to leave me'' I say, My voice slightly trembling. At that moment my sister walks in, Noticing me crying she walks towards me and looks at the picture, Not saying a word. Tanya slowly puts her hand down beside mine and intertwines them, Making me smile slightly. At some point my aunt left, Leaving me and Tanya alone staring at the picture of out mother that went missing. I just cry, Not caring about anything other than how much I wish she was here with dad. ''I need her'' I whimper softly to nobody as my sister leans her head on my shoulder, Leaving a wet patch where her tears fell.
