~*~Pale Wolf Encounter~*~

The leaves rustled softly in the wind. The forest, however, was not as calm as the wind. It was holding its breath, the animals within it silent in apprehension. A young brown haired elf walked with her parents, another young blond haired elf walking beside her. She smiled over at the little boy, and looked back at her parents. She and her family were oblivious to the danger the forest was sensing.

"Mom, can me and Alagan go ahead to the river?" the young elf asked, piercing green eyes wide with excitement The pale blonde elf the younger one was looking at smiled and nodded.

"Yes my little one, you can go." the young female gave a screech of delight and ran ahead with her brother. The pair pushed and shoved their way through the bushes and the two older elves heard two loud splashes that signaled the young ones had found their river. The father gave a breathy laugh, and looked through the bushes.

"Seems Nelora is getting a head start on her frost spell practice." he said and the mother looked out to see her daughter lifting water drops from the water, and freezing them, before pelting the frozen drops at her younger brother.

"Ow! Nelora stop doing that! Mother!" Their mother shook her head and pushed her way gracefully through the bushes. She walked over to the water's edge, and took her shoes off, before stepping into the cool water. Nelora giggled as she and her mother started practicing their magic. The father paused though, and looked over, a glint of steel catching his attention. Red colors shifted in the bushes not far away from where Nelora and her mother were practicing the water spells, and the her father's eyes widened. His ears flicked slightly and he stared into the bushes, while slowly moving closer to his oblivious family.

"Nelora, Alagan, Rosala! Run!" he yelled, and ran over to the as the templars burst from the bushes. He grabbed his bow from the strap on his back, and an arrow, aiming it while he ran. He let go, the arrow hit the templar in the front, and he went down right away. He knocked another, and prepared to let it go, when an arrow flew at him. But there was another aimed at a different spot. And as he moved, the arrow pierced into the front of his shoulder, almost into his heart.

"Kaden!" Nelora's mother screeched, turning to help her husband.

"No! Rosala, get away from here! Nelora, Alagan, go with you mother!" Kaden yelled, recovering, and letting go of another arrow. Nelora felt her mother's hand on her tighten, before she pulled her son and daughter farther into the forest. Alagan whimpered softly, and Nelora looked back to see three templars giving chase to her and her mother and brother.

"Mom, they're following us." Nelora murmured looking up at the panicked green eyes of her mother. Rosala stayed silent, only pushing her daughter and son in front of her.

"Go! Just keep running, don't look back. I'll be right behind you both, I promise!" Rosala yelled, and Nelora took her brother's hand, running ahead. Alagan looked up at Nelora with wide fearful eyes, before looking back. Nelora saw his eyes widen even more, and then? He screamed. Nelora looked back, and saw why. The templars were attacking their mother, and she was lashing out at them with blazing hands, fire, lightning, ice even. But they drew ever nearer to her. Alagan stopped running, and turned to go to his mother, but Nelora wrapped her hands around his waist.

"Alagan... we have to go!" Nelora choked out, watching as the templars got closer and closer to their mother. Her brother stopped pulling, but cried out and suddenly turned, taking off into the forest, tears streaming down his face. Nelora whipped around, and quickly stood back up. "ALAGAN!" she yelled, taking off after him. As Nelora got deeper into the forest the air started to change. Becoming heavier, more thick, darker even. A thick, grey smoky sheen started swirling around Nelora, and heat hit her face. The forest was on fire. A flaming branch crackled above, and then snapped. The large limb fell in between Nelora and her brother, and cut her off from him. She saw his form continue on, into the brush.
