She opened her eyes and looked around. She was chained to a post, and about ten feet away Draco found himself in the same predicament. She could hardly see him as the room was very dimly lit. She looked over at him and saw his face expressionless.
"Draco, why are we here? What's going to happen to us?" She stumbled over her words, frightened. A stray tear fell down her cheek. She reached up to wipe it off. She didn't have much room to move as the chains were very short. She looked up at him and back to the ground. He saw the hurt, scared look in her eyes. He knew there was probably nothing he could say to make anything better. He might as well be honest and as comforting as he can.
"I presume he wants to torture us. Me because I've been with you and you because of your blood-status..." He trailed off and looked over at her to see how these words were hitting her. She looked absolutely terrified. He knew that would happen but he didn't know what else to say. They WERE locked in a dungeon chained to separate posts.
"I...I don't know what to do. We have to get out of here befor-" She fell silent as footsteps made their way down the stairs. Not even a moment later, Lucius Malfoy appeared at the door. He flung it open and stepped in, a smirk set on his face. He closed the door and looked at the two of them.
"Both of you will be punished. You," He pointed at her, "Because you are a stupid mudblood and have changed my son for the worse. And you," He looked over to Draco, "Because you decided to make friends with the scum." He sneered. She glared at him.
"I didn't change your son. Your son chose to change and he changed for the better! You are just too dumb to realize it. He will turn out a much better person than his filthy father." She said triumphantly. She knew this would probably get her in some trouble but she didn't care, as long as Draco was safe.
"Really? Well, we have a brave little Gryffindor over here with a big mouth." He reached into the pocket of his robes, pulled out his wand and pointed it at her. "Crucio!" The red streak flew across the room and hit her square in the stomach. She screamed and writhed in pain. New wounds opened up on her arms, legs, face and stomach. Anywhere you could think of, she had some sort of wound. By now, Draco had figured out his punishment. Watching his best friend, the one he loved, get tortured and hurt by his own blood, knowing he couldn't do anything about it. Or could he?
