06: Uncovered

My head still aching as I forced myself to get up from my bed. Where am I? All I see is white around me. What happened? I tried to focus.

Yes, I'm at a hospital.

"You woke up already?" that voice was startled me.

I quickly hide myself under the blanket when I heard the person chuckles. It scares me.. I hold on the blanket firmly when I felt the person tucked on it to uncover me. Please, go away!

"Why are you hiding from me?"

I looked up a bit then I gasped.

"Jinhwan?"

He smiled wholeheartedly at me as he took a sit beside my bed. I fixed my position in awkwardness.

"Are you feeling better now?" he asked.

I nodded, "How long I've been sleeping?"

"10 hours? Hey, what happened?"

I felt my tears starts to forming. I tried to hold it but I'm too scared right now. I want to tell him but it reminds me of the treats. I let out a deep breath as wipe my tears away before it could drop. I see Jinhwan only stared at me, maybe he is still waiting for me to answer.

I get off from the bed and slipped into my slippers that I had on the floor. Jinhwan grabbed my left arm which made me froze.

"Where are you going? You didn't answer me yet," he asked.

I faked a smile, "I need to go to work. I'm afraid if I get fired if I don't."

I saw him smirking at me. "Don't lie, Yerin. I know you already quit from working at Hanbyul's daycare centre. Am I right?"

My eyes slightly widened. "How did you know? And.. you know Hanbyul?"

He folded his arms and lean in on the chair as he nodded. I don't have anything with me so I just bow at him and walk away.

"She is Hanbin's sister. She wanted to see you so bad. Make your time and meet her," he finally said before I could twist the doorknob.

I nodded, "Arasso, but now I have to go home. Later."

I walked out of the room without knowing that Jinhwan is secretly following me..

"Thank you, sir," I thanked him as I took the brown envelope from the owner of the house.

Doing house chores in such a big house was very tiring since I'm doing it all alone. I sweep and mop the floor, rearrange the couch, tv and all, clean all the rooms which had five rooms altogether in this house and wash the dishes. Gosh, I felt like my bone already breaks because of the works.

He smiled at me, "I think this is the last payment that you will get from me. My wife will hire a maid next week so we don't need you to work here anymore."

"But, sir.."

He patted my shoulder, "Thanks for doing the chores while my wife isn't here. Till see you again."

I forced a nod as I looked down to the floor. Hmph, I've lost this job. Now what? I walked out from the house with my heavy steps. As I walk to the bus stop, I took a glance in the envelope which contains my payment for today.

Hm.. Now I need to find another 42M won in order to settle all of it. That's a huge amount of money!

I wish I can get the money in a blink of an eye. Honestly, I'm tired of being like this everyday. I want to be like another teenagers, going to school happily without even bothered with problems. I want to get the best results in every exam like everyone else. I want to be successful in the future... like my dad before he went bankrupt.
