Aradia woke up the next morning in the laboratory, she poked her spoon around in her cereal watching the Cheerios float around in the milk. She heard the annoying humming of her sweet and giddy friend prancing around the kitchen whilst makin the two coffee. Feferi sat down next to her sliding a mug over into Aradia's hand.
"What's got you all glum?" She looked at Aradia, face filled with concern for her friend. Aradia continued to poke her spoon around in her Cheerios until she answered. "I've just been worried for those two." Feferi was slightly confused until she remembered yesterday's events, catching on to the subject in which she was referring to.
"Why?" "Well I've given it some thought about what you said,y'know seeing them as a couple." "Okay." Feferi nodded. "They can't." Feferi was shocked by her words, almost spitting out her coffee. "And why not?" She placed her mug onto the table roughly shaking the table. "It's more dangerous then you think,Feferi." "How? Are you just jealous, cause I saw the way you were looking at the snake! Don't you dare ruin my ship!" "What?! Dear god no!" Feferi's face contorted from anger to confusion once again. "Think about it,one is from the sea,the other from land. One is royal blooded and the other is not,in fact he's a lowblood! One is cold blooded the other is warm blooded."
"I'm still not catching on." Aradia gave out an agravated sigh. "Don't you think that could possible affect their offspring?!" Feferi, now being deep in thought wondered about this as well.
"I don't see how it could but there are possibilities. Then again how can you be so sure? There are no recordings of this ever happening."
At those very words,Aradia's eyes lit up. She could check the facility computer. Rushing down the hall and leaving Feferi in dark, she sat down typing vigorously on the computer.
Searching everything she found one file. "Feferi! Get in here!" In a flash,Feferi was right by her side looking over her shoulder.
"Recordings of Seadweller and Landweller creatures reproduction."
Aradia clicked on the file reading every word of the experiment.
"Recorded in 1902,a group of scientists experimented with a lowblooded landweller and a highblooded seadweller. The seadweller due to studies is the only specimen able to produce offspring between the two of them. Changes between the two caused the experiment to become a great and tragic failure, leaving the scientists broke and unable to conduct another experiment."
She scrolled down to read the rest only to be met with the label 'CLASSIFIED' in bold letters and 'enter password' below it. Great. Lovely.
"Do you know the password?" "Nope."
Feferi left the room unsatisfied and paranoid. Aradia followed behind her.
"Aren't their other violet bloods?"
"I'm afraid he's the last one if he was supposedly kept away. All we can hope is that there's another one out there."
Sollux on the other hand was still head over tails for Eridan.
"Hey ED?" Eridan sat in his lap fiddling with a stick. "Yes Sol?" He said, his voice being heard over the light patter of rain on the leaves. "Are we jussssst friendsssss?" Eridan stiffened, violet making it's way onto his cheeks.
"I-I wwasnt awware that wwe wwere anything more." Sollux sat back leaning against the tree. "Hm."
