Chapter 4

Sollux loomed over Eridan watching him sleep. Seadwellers didn't really purr,it was more of a cute bubble sound. Their small conversation ran over and over again in his mind.
-FLASH BACK-
"Hey ED?"

"Yes Sol?"

"Are we jusssst friiendssss?"

"I wwants awware wwe wwere anything more."

-END FLASHBACK-

Sollux bent down,their faces a few inches apart. Sollux unknowingly brushed his hand against the seadwellers side. Eridan opened his sleepy eyes just to see Sollux's face a few inches away from his.
"*Unholy screeching*" "*SMACK*!" In seconds Sollux was lying on the forest floor,a slap mark clearly visable on his left cheek. "OH MY COD YOU CANNOT DO THAT!" Sollux chuckled to himself. "Ssssssooo totally worth iit jusssst to sssee you freak out." Eridan looked down at him. "*sshole." He muttered. "II HEARD THAT!" "Heard wwhat? I didn't hear anyfin!" "You can't liie! II can sssensse iit!" Eridan's head snappe back to look at him.
"Oh really?" He let out a devious chuckle. "Yup." Sollux slithered back up next to him. "Okay then,tell my if I'm lying." "Shoot." "I'm flushed for you." Eridan showed a look of confidence,Sollux's face flashed a deep yellow,his feelings for Eridan sparking with hope as a small smile crept onto his face. "U-uh,no.......you aren't lyiing." Eridan's face heated up as he tried to make out a reply. "I-I.....but that-....." Sollux smirked waiting for him to admit he'd been defeated. "HAH! I wwas just kiddin',I'm not really flushed for you! Your senses suck!" Eridan stammered trying to deny everything. Sollux fell silent,a clear look of dissapointment written on his face. Eridan felt guilt begin to eat away at him. Reaching out  to Sollux his hand was slapped away,Sollux growled at him.
"F*ck you." He said voice full of hurt and venom. It was silent. "Sol I-" "No." He cut him off.
"Ssshut up,just shut up." Eridan backed away a little to give him some room. Sollux glared at him tears visibly forming in his eyes. "II hate you."

Those words started up a feirce pain in the highbloods chest. Sollux slithered away pushing past grass and leaves leaving a visable trail and leaving Eridan up in the tree,he reached out for him slipping--falling and hitting sharp branches on the way down. Cuts littered his body from the countless twigs hitting him on the way down. "Augh!" He whined trying to ignore the pain of his open wounds. "Sollux?" He tried moving his tail-"AUGH! F*CKING HELL!" He grasped at his tail seeing the end twisted in a horrifying way that made his jaw drop. "Sollux?!" He crawled toward the path his lowblooded flush crush had left in a pit of anger. "Sol?" He called out again. "Listen,I'm really sorry,okay?"

"I-" He was cut off by the rustling in the bushes behind him. "Sol? Is that you?" "Don't you dare jump out and scare me,I just wwont stand for it!." He said trying to sound tough. After waiting several minutes and not getting any results of Sollux being there he though he was going mad.

That's not Sollux

'Wwhy do you say that?'

Because you're hurt and if that were Sollux than he'd already jumped out to help you.

'He seemed real pissed of at me though'

Only because he thought you were flushed for him and an idiot could tell you that

'So does that me-'

Don't say it!

'Fine,fine.'

The point is that's not Sollux!

'Wwait.......shut up! Howw can I trust you unless I knoww I havven't gone crazy!?'

Well,I'm kinda that little voice inside your head that tells you when something's not right.

More rustling emenated from the bush. "Wwho is there?! Showw yourself right this instint!" He demanded. "Th3 mighty huntr3ss r3pli3s,Okay! Okay,just don't y3ll at m3..." They sounded uncomfortable with his demeanor. Something that would resemble a centaur walked out of the bushes only,it's lower half was the body of a large cat and the upper half was a girl with short black curly hair that fell right unto her shoulders. "The mighty huntr3ss pond3rs what this fishy is doing so far from th3 wat3r?" "The mighty wwho-da-wwhat?"
