The Hongs Reunite

Ch. 10

Jungah's POV

Over the past few days, I had been avoiding Joshua at all cost.

When he walks into the kitchen, I walk out, if he needs to have a word with me, I'd say that I need to do something important, heck even I beg to not be in the same van as his during our ride to schedules.

Yesterday was their last stage and now the boys are taking a total rest day which means hometown time for them.

Well, except for Vernon, Seungkwan, Joshua and the chinese line.

Vernon's house is near Hongdae so instead of coming home, Sofia's coming for a sleepover.

For only one night sadly.

The doorbell rang and in comes Vernon and his little sister, "hi! You must be Sofia! I'm Jungah!" I greeted, smiling widely at her, "nice to meet you, unnie!" She grinned happily.

"Aish, get in first before greeting every living person in this house!" Vernon protested while pushing Sofia into the dorm.

I glared at him and flick his forehead, "yah! That's not how to talk to a girl!" At my scolding, Sofia grinned, "I like you, unnie!"

Before Vernon could retort us anything, we both had already slipped into the house, giggling along the way.

"Vernon said a lot about you! He said it'll be great if we both meet!" She grinned widely.

We both sat on the ground, in front of the couch, "oh, yeah? Did he said anything bad about me?" I snickered as I eyed Vernon who is standing not far from us, "yah! I'm right here! If you wanna talk about me at least wait until I leave the room"

He stuck his tongue at the both of us and went inside his room to put Sofia's things.

Sofia is the sweetest girl I have ever met, she wasn't scared to talk to me about anything and by anything, I mean anything...

"Yeah! And Vernon was like 'I'm gonna slay that guy' but he ended up crying home" she said, her eyes glimmered with excitement as she told her story.

Seungkwan and Jun had joined our little chat alonh with Vernon who was sitting on the couch behind us.

We were all laughing at Sofia's story about Vernon's stupidity from childhood, "Sofia! How many times should I told you to not tell anyone any of my embarassing moments from childhood!" He protested as he was about to leap forward to tackle his sister.

"Yeah, but thank God she did, though! That means we can tease you more" Seungkwan said while grinnig mischeviously at Vernon which Vernon replied with a 'don't you dare' stare.

We chatted for a good hour, catching up with Sofia and revealing Vernon's embarassing childhood memory.

I just realized then that Joshua was no where in sight, "by the way, where's Joshua?" I asked, "in his room I think? He hasn't come out since this morning... last time I saw him was before I went to fetch Sofia which is around... 8 am?" Vernon said.

My eyes widened, "he hasn't come out of his room for 5 hours!?"

And with that I stood up and stomp to Joshua's room.

Without even bothering to knock on the door, I barge in, "oppa! You need to get up! Even though it's your day off that doesn't mean that you can be lazy all day!"

I stood by his bed to see him in a curled up position.

My face scrunched up and I crouch down next to him, "yah, oppa! Wake up!" Then I reach out to wake him but as my hand touched his exposed shoulder, all I felt was heat radiating from his body.

Worriness struck me like a lightning and I shook him harder, "oppa! Yah, oppa! Are you okay?"

He began to stir and he finally opened one of his eyes, he coughed before answering me, "well, what do you think? Do I look as healthy as a horse?"

I sighed at him, "why didn't you tell me that you caught a fever?" "I don't want to worry anyone, and I could just sleep through it..."

Even if I want to get mad at him, I know that I can't do so, "I'll get you some cold towel, okay? You stay put" and then I left the room only to see 4 heads looking at my direction.

"What happened to Joshua?" Jun asked, "he caught a fever appareantly"

Their eyes almost buldged out of their sockets, "wha- seriously!?" "Sadly yes... I'm going to get him cold towel and after that I'll cook lunch, okay?"

I disappeared into the kitchen to prepare whatever's needed.

As I was preparing, Vernon appeared and tap my shoulder, "you okay?" He asked, "of course I am, I'm not the one that's sick"

He chuckled at my remark before appearing next to me, filling a basin with ice cold water, "you know what I mean, Jungah... you must be worried about him" he said while nuding me with his shoulder.

With that I sighed, "I mean, he doesn't have to work his ass off every day! It's okay to be lousy once in a while! Mom said he have a weak immune system so if he work too hard his body will drop... just like my sister..." my voice dropped low.

My tears were about to fell, rethinking about my sister again when suddenly Vernon chuckled next to me and his hand now resting on my head, "you shouldn't think like that! You've done so much for your sister, you know? Don't let the thought of your sister bring you down... you should be happy!" He smiled cheerfully.

I sniffled but nod reluctantly at him with a small smile plastered on my face.

Then we both brought the things we prepared to Joshua's shared room, "oppa, we've got the towel for you..." I called softly and made my way to his bed.

I move his fringe away and put the ice cold towel on his hot forehead which made me cringe, "I hope he'll be alright soon..." I said as I fix the towel on his forehead, "well, he'll be as soon as he have something to eat" Vernon answered.

My eyes averted to Vernon accusingly, "and by that you mean YOU need something to eat, right?" I scoffed at him.

He grinned innocently, "spot on, babe" "don't 'babe' me, Vernon... it sounds terribly wrong..."

Then we both left the room while laughing.

Joshua's POV

As soon as they both leave, I open my eyes and sighed, "exactly why are they being so close with each other?" I mumbled to myself.

I reached up and touch the towel that laid on my forehead, 'she felt so warm... so familiar... like as if I know her but I don't... or maybe I did?'

A sigh left my lips as I shift my gaze to the door, "I'll figure out who you are..."
