Hey! Sorry for the long wait! I had exams, but now it's summer vacation, so here's a new part! (: Let me know if you like it!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Archer’s lips met mine with an intensity that could make someone go insane. We were in my living room, having gone from watching an innocent movie to a rather racy make out session.

We were avoiding the lake house at all costs, as Reese had a new girl. Alisa, I think her name was. I wasn’t fond of her, but he’d been with her on more than one occasion, so I guess that’s a step forward.

Archer and I had only been mates for a few days, but I felt like I’d been with him for years. Technically, I had been, though just not physically or emotionally with him. He’d always been my brother’s best friend, and now he was mine.

“Oh my,” I heard my mother’s voice say from the living room door. Archer reluctantly pulled away from my lips, sitting up. I sat up after him. Despite having found out Archer was my mate a few days ago, we hadn’t told anybody besides Reese.

“Um, hi mom,” I said.

“Does Reese know you two are…um…involved?” my mother asked.

“Yeah,” I said.

“Oh my god, did he flip shit?” she asked.

          “Yeah,” Archer chuckled.

“Um…mom, Archer’s my mate,” I said softly.

“Oh that’s fantastic!” she smiled, “Welcome to the family, Archer, even though you already were. Well, I guess I should leave you two alone. Archer, you’re welcome to come anytime, you know that.”

She left the room, and Archer plastered on a crappy grin.

“Well, that went well,” I said.

“What can I say, parents love me,” he said cockily.

We finished our movie, actually trying to watch it. Archer was lost in the movie, but his hand subconsciously was rubbing my back, and I couldn’t focus or think straight.

“Let’s go out on a date,” Archer said after the credits rolled.

“What?”

“I want to go on a date. Just the two of us, dinner and a movie,” he said.

“Okay,” I agreed.

“Let’s go,” he said.

“What, right now?” I asked, confused.

“Yes right now, silly,” he laughed.

“I have to get ready,” I said, getting up and walking to my room. Archer followed me inside, even though I didn’t really want him to. I started tearing through my closet.

“You look fine,” he said, “I don’t think you need to get ready.”

I shot him a look and continued ripping through my closet. I pulled out a casual summer dress and headed for my bathroom to get dressed.

“It’s not like I haven’t seen it before,” Archer said, “Hell, I’ve been the one to cause it,” he added cockily.

I rolled my eyes and walked into my bathroom. I shut the door behind me and got dressed quickly. I touched up on my hair, which was in quite a state from Archer’s hands running through it. I applied a thick layer of cover up to try and hide the hickeys on my neck, but it didn’t work and I ended up washing it off.

I walked out to find Archer laying all sprawled out on my bed, flipping through a scrapbook.

“You look beautiful,” he smiled when he saw me. He got up, pecking my lips.

Our date was simply as he said; dinner and a movie. He paid for my ticket to the new comedy, and held the doors open for me like a chivalrous guy.

“You want something to eat?” he asked, pushing me over to the concessions.

“I don’t care,” I said, honestly not caring.

“Well, I treat my woman right, and she gets the large popcorn and frozen coke,” he said, ordering the food. The cashier rolled her eyes, and Archer asked for some Sour Patch Kids to go along with the popcorn and drinks.

The movie was pretty good, but I got a kick out of seeing Archer laugh. He was so amazing. Everything he did was breathtaking. Halfway through the movie, he caught me stealing a glance at him, and he pulled me in for an intoxicating kiss.

After the movie, we went to Bob’s Old Barn, which was basically home-cooked food, but it was really, really good. The waitress kept flirting with Archer, but he completely ignored it, or he just didn’t realize.

After our typical date was over, he drove me home and even walked me to the door.

“You can come in if you want,” I said.

“Don’t I get my kiss?” he asked, “For the world’s most typical date, I think I deserve at least a kiss. I even used the cheesy popcorn line.”

“I don’t know,” I sighed, pretending to ponder it.

He let out a small growl and I almost drooled. I loved his animalistic growls that escaped his lips occasionally. I knew he didn’t mean to let them slip, it was just the alpha wolf in him lashing out.

“Of course you can have your kiss,” I laughed, wrapping my arms around his neck and kissing him.
