Chapter Seventeen
It had been Archer’s idea to get married before the summer ended, and from there we picked out August seventh. It gave us less than a month to prepare. To say I was frazzled was an understatement.
I loved Amara for dropping everything to focus on the wedding. My mom, as well as Elsey and Kat were just as on board. I’d even asked Lizzie, Archer’s sister to be a bridesmaid and she was helping out too.
“Are you sure you have to leave me?” Archer pouted. He was still lying in bed, naked. He had a sheet covering him, but barely. It was so nice to have a place of our own. We’d gone furniture shopping together, and slowly, this place was starting to feel like home.
“I do if you want to get married,” I smiled, putting on some lip gloss in the mirror.
“We could always elope,” he complained.
“We could, but the pack is expecting a wedding, Mr. Alpha,” I said.
“Don’t call me that,” he growled, “Especially since it’s not my title yet.”
“Whatever you say,” I laughed lightly. I walked over to our bed where Archer lay and handed him a necklace he’d bought me.
“Will you clasp this?” I asked.
“Anything for my princess.” He clasped it and then kissed the crook of my neck, and I almost gave up on dress shopping altogether. It was just the touch of his skin on mine that made me want to crawl back in bed with him.
“AMITY YOU HAVE THREE MINUTES BEFORE I COME UP THERE AND GET YOU,” Elsey yelled up the stairs.
“That’s my cue,” I sighed, pecking his lips. He pulled me in for a proper kiss, and then smacked my ass as I left.
Today, we were going to pick out my dress as well as the bridesmaids dresses. We were going to Blush, the locally owned bridal shop. A woman in the pack owned it, and I thought it’d be good to try there first.
We walked into the bridal shop and Lauren, the owner came out, smiling.
“I’m so happy for you, Amity!” she smiled hugely.
“Thanks,” I blushed. I was thankful that the pack was embracing out marrying so young so well. I knew that going back to school was going to be a different story, but I didn’t care so much. I loved Archer, and I couldn’t imagine life without him.
I tried on a few dresses, not really feeling like they were the one. Lizzie peeked her head in the dressing room.
“I found this dress, and it’s not like anything you picked out, but I feel like you really need to try it on,” she smiled, handing me a dress.
It was strapless with a sweetheart neckline. It was beautiful and simple, yet had a slight style that fit me perfectly. I walked out and showed it to my friends and family, tears filling my eyes.
“Oh, this is the dress,” Amara and my mother said at the same time. I nodded, and smiled. I felt like a bride. I hugged Lizzie, and thanked her for finding the dress.
We bought the dress, along with a veil and I picked out my bride’s maid dresses. The colors for my wedding were navy blue and peach, so I let Elsey, Kat, and Lizzie pick out their own dresses as long as they were all the same color.
When I got home, I found Archer sitting on the porch, drinking peach tea, shirtless. I sat in his lap and kissed him hard on the lips.
“I love you,” I whispered.
“I love you too,” he smiled, the same goofy smile he always had on his face when he said it.
