Chapter Two. // Just Us.
I sit in my booth at the little coffee shop I spend most of my time at. My back to the door, I have my headphones in my ears, music blaring so loud, I know everyone around me can hear it too. Clear enough so they can tell what the words are. But I can't hear anything from them.
And that is the point.
I keep my eyes shut, keeping them shut makes it so I can't see anything, can't see who is around me or what is happening. I'm in my own little world with my coffee and my thoughts.
But right now, I didn't want to be alone with my thoughts.
Let me explain something really quick.
Noah is the only son of Hellen and Douglas. He was a senior and I was a junior when we first connected in the school parking lot. It was a little over two and a half years ago when we started talking. He had always been in my school but I never paid any attention to him. We dated for six months, his parents found out we were sleeping with each other and they forced (or that's what he told me) Noah to leave me. They said it was because Jesus was calling them in a different direction but I knew the truth. About three weeks before he was supposed to graduate, they just packed their lives up and moved seven hours away. I expected him to come back after he graduated, to come back for me. And he never did.
I sat in my room, waiting for three months, waiting for him to call, or text me or something. To just show that he was attempting to contact me, but it never came.
I haven't spoken to him or his parents sense the night before they moved.

"Why don't you just tell him you were sick?" I mumble, walking down the hallway of my high school with Amanda.
She grunts, "oh please, after all the school I've missed, I need to be more original than that." I look over at her as she grins. I swear, she hasn't a care in the world.
I smile as I mull over the possibilities around in my head, "oh! Tell him you were too busy fucking his son." I grin cheekily at her.
Amanda scoffs, slapping my arm, "I could never say that!" She yells defensively before a sly smirk passes over her cheeks, "but I wouldn't be lying if I did." Shes let's out a throaty, obnoxious laugh, throwing her head back at her own wit.
I roll my eyes, "if he does happen to find out that you've been screwing Chandler, you're gonna be fucked." I warn, shaking my head, "and not in the good way!" I couldn't help laughing at my own pun.
Amanda shrugs, "whatever happens, happens. No need to worry about it." She pulls out her phone, "speaking of which, are you busy tonight? I don't wanna go home because my mom's boyfriend is staying over."
I look up at her as she taps away on her phone. "Which one?"
Amanda licks her lips, "I think it's Miles tonight, but I could be wrong. Maybe Keavin?"
I snort, "what kind of name is Keavin?" I laugh as Amanda slips her phone back in her butt pocket.
"I have no clue but my mom says he really knows his way around a vagina." She mumbles, examining her nails.
If you haven't figured it out yet, my best friend sleeps with whoever she wants, whenever she wants. And same goes for her mother. Neither have any sexual boundaries. Amanda even gave her second cousin a blow job once. But she only sees him at the annual family reunion so she says it doesn't count as insest.
