CHAPTER 1

"Ate, breakfastʼs ready."

Kaagad kong ipinasok sa bag ko ang laptop at phone ko nang marinig ang sigaw ng kapatid ko mula sa labas ng kwarto.

I take another look at myself before I rushed out of my room, I think I dried my hair enough.

Mom and Dad are both not around, probably they're both busy with their line of business. I shrugged and handed my things to kuya Romel, our driver.

"Bacon and Egg na naman?"

Kunot noo kong sambit habang tinitingnan ang kapatid kong abala sa pagkain. He loved bacon and egg so much that I'm getting sick of it. We're consuming these almost everyday, and this is not healthy.....

"Too much oily foods aren't healthy, Skyller Gage."

I said emphasizing his full name, he choke on his food and looked at me grimacing.

"It's Sky. Let's start with that."

He said after sipping a milk  from his glass.

"Don't try to change our topic."

I told him putting egg and bacon on my toast. I reached for the kewpie mayo stuck on my brother's side.

"Can you give me the mayo atleast." I said raising a brow.

He 'tsked' and handed me the mayo. This is our daily breakfast scene. He'll keep the mayo with him while I struggle to have it.

These oily stuff doesn't taste good for me without this kewpie mayo.

"Mom told me that we'll have dinner later together with her business partner, tsk. I just want you to prepare yourself, I've seen this kind of scenario in a lot of movies and telenovelas."

Tumango ako at pinagpatuloy ang pagkain...

"Arrange marriage is out of date already, especially in this generation. Masiyado ng luma."

I said trying to assure him, and trying to convince myself as well. The world of business doesn't evolve along with the world, that I know for sure.

"Still...it's better to be ready. Plus, Josh is a nice guy." He said wiping his mouth using the table napkin from his lap

Nagkibit balikat ako at mabilis na rin na tinapos ang pagkain. 'Let's not start our day with overthinking' with that, I stood up and march out of the dining area.

I am attending Astraeus Academy while Sky attends Thaddeus High. He's in last year of high school while I'm currently a third year college student.

Tahimik lang kami buong biyahe hanggang sa maibaba siya sa school niya. He silently bid goodbye habang tanging tango lang ang ibinigay ko rito.
