~Chapter Four~

Song of the chapter: everything has changed- taylor swift

The next morning:

"Girls wake up!" Amanda's mom yells from the other side of the door.

I slowly start to open my eyes, then close them again because it's surprisingly bright outside. I roll over and look at my phone. It's already noon.

"Mandy," I mumble. She's already out of bed looking for clothes to wear. "Why are you awake already?" I ask

"Why are you still asleep?"

"Cause it's morning! And I'm hungover. I need coffee," I mumble as I stand up.

"Bye Amanda I'll see you later" I call as I walk out of her house.

I get in my car and check my phone. I have a new message from an unknown number. I open it. It reads:

'Peyton I need to talk to you again will you meet me? -Justin'

I think for a minute and respond, 'ok meet at the park in an hour'

I press send then pull out of Amanda's driveway and head home.

When I get home my mom left a note saying she had to go into work for the day, I run upstairs and hop in shower. I stand under the hot water clearing my mind. I get out and wrap a towel around myself. I have about thirty minutes till I have to meet justin. I go over to my closet and look for something to wear.

I settle on skinny jeans, a blue tank, and a gray cardigan. I dry my hair and straighten it quickly, I globe mascara on and lightly brush my face with foundation. I throw on my combat boots and head downstairs, grab my keys and drive to the park.

I remember the place at the swings where Justin and I used to always meet. I park and get out, walking to the swings i see justins car pull into the parking lot, but instead of waiting I keep walking. I sit down on one of swings and wait for justin to join me.

"Hey Pey" he says cheerfully as he sits in the swing next to me.

"Hi justin" I say sharply.

"About last night... Look I'm sorry I didn't mean to say all that at once."

"Justin i'm sorry but I don't know what you're talking about." I honestly didn't remember too much about what happened that night.

"What do you mean you don't remember?"

"I mean I was really drunk last night and I don't know what you're talking about."

That was kind of a lie. Remember him talking to me and saying he loved me or something like that. And I remember him watching me all night and almost getting in a fight with Chase. But other than that I don't remember what else he had said to me.

"That's great! I mean, well, at least i can do a better job explaining this time. Do you wanna walk?"

"sure," I hop off the swing and start walking next to him.

"Look, when I left, you were on my mind all the time. I was always thinking about you."

"Really then why didn't you call me?" I stop short waiting for an answer.
