~Chapter Eight~

Song of the Chapter: Solider- Gavin DeGraw

Peyton's POV:

My eyes slowly start to flutter open and I sit up. When I sit up I have a pounding headache. I look around my surroundings and I realize I'm not in my room or Amanda's. It takes a few moments until I realize where I am.

I'm in Justin room. I'm lying on Justin Bieber's bed with a huge hangover and no memories of anything last night after I got to his house. I quickly slide out of his bed and I slip my shoes back on. I walk to the bathroom and try to make myself look the least hung over as possible. I grab my purse and phone and tiptoe down stairs to the front door.

"And where do you think you're going girlfriend?" I hear someone say from behind me.

It's obviously Justin. Girlfriend? What the fuck is he talking about? Oh shit. Please tell me I didn't sleep with him last night. I really hope I didn't do anything stupid last night.

"Girlfriend?" I turn to face him. " Aren't we getting a little bit cocky?" I ask trying to sound like I'm teasing him, but I'm actually absolutely confused.

"C'mon. I made you some breakfast," He says reaching for my hand.

I pull my hand away, "No thanks. I'm not hungry."

Justin doesn't listen and pulls me into the kitchen anyway. I take a seat at the counter and he hands me a plate and stands across from me.

"So girlfriend, what are we doing today?" he asks grinning.

"Okay Bieber. What are you talking about?"

"First tell me what you remember from last night and I'll help you fill in the blanks."

"Fine." I begin tell him everything I remember from the past night all the way to the last thing I remember. "The last thing I remember is taking shots with Chaz."

"Ok well after that, Amanda found you two dancing and you two were about to leave but you were to drunk to stand up. She found me and asked for my help getting you home." Justin smirks before he tells the next part. "I walked over to you and you jumped on me, kissed me and called me your boyfriend-"

"You're lying!" I half yelled at him.

"I'm really not. After that I carried you upstairs to my room," my mouth dropped open. This is not what I was expecting to hear. "I set you down on the bed and left. When I left you thought I was going to come right back. But instead, I locked the door from the outside."

I was completely shocked. I seriously doubt this happened. Why the hell is being so nice to me?

"Why are you being so nice to me?" I ask shyly.

"I still love you Pey. I'm not going to give up on you. I will fight as long as it takes, however it takes."

I stare at him expressionlessly. Is what he's saying the truth? Should I give him a second chance?

I pull my gaze away from his and put my hands to my head. All this thinking is making my hang over a million times worse.

"Do you have any Advil?" He pulls open a drawer and hands me a small container. "Thanks."

I glance over at the clock. "Shit," I mumble under my breath. It's already one in the afternoon and I'm going to be late for work. "I have to go." I say, grabbing my purse.

"Where are you going?" He says chasing after me.

"I'm late for work," I say still heading for the door.

"Let me drive you," I turn and face him. I raise my eyebrows at him.

"I'd rather walk." I say sternly and walk outside. He doesn't follow me. Thank God.

I keep walking to the daycare where I work. The whole way out of his neighborhood I feel like somebody is following me. Soon enough a black range rover pulls up next to me and rolls down its window.

"Pey, please get in."

"Justin, I said I would walk," I respond curtly.

"Peyton please, it's cold out and I don't want you to get sick." I keep walking, ignoring his comment.

"Peyton! I'm serious. Please just get into the damn car," He yells again. I hesitate but keep walking. "Alright fine!"

I notice he stops following me, which makes me feel a million times better, because now I have time to think.

Alone.

Suddenly, I feel strong arms wrap around my waist tightly and lifting me off the ground. I start screaming and trying to free myself. I turn my head to try to get a look at my kidnapper. I can only see the back of his head but that is enough.

It's Justin. Actually, of course it's Justin. He seriously doesn't understand the meaning of the word no.

"Justin put me down!" I yell at him. Predictably he ignores me and keeps walking. "Justin!" I yell again.

Finally he stops I hear the sound of a door opening. He sets me down and closes the door after me. Justin runs back to the driver's side and gets in. I try to open the door but he locks it on me. I fold my arms and pout. "Put your seatbelt on." I ignore his comment and keep my arms folded across my chest. "Ugh you are just as stubborn as you were before I..." He trails off.

Justin reaches over me and buckles the seatbelt for me. He starts driving but every once and a while I catch him looking me. Not that I was looking at him or anything. "Do you still work in the same place?" He asks looking over at me. "The daycare? Downtown?"

"Yes," I sigh and look at him. "Justin, I'm scared."

He looks at me confused, "Scared? About what?"

"Scared about what would happen if I let you back into my life. Scared to trust you. Scared to fall again," I last part I whisper so that he doesn't hear it.

Justin pulls the car over and puts it in park. He takes my hand and wraps both of his around mine. It's strange how perfectly they still fit after all this time. When we touch I still feel a spark. It's a small dulled out one but it is still there, and I feel like it won't be leaving soon.

"Peyton, I swear if you give me a second chance I will never do anything to hurt you again. Ever," His soft brown eyes find their way to mine and my gaze reaches his.

"But what if you leave again? I can't make you stop your career for me."

"Then you would come with me," I look at him with disbelief. "I know I am not worthy of a second chance with you Peyton. I realize how much pain I have caused you. I just want a chance to prove to you that you are the one for me. I love you."
