~Chapter Eleven~

Song of the Chapter: I Won't Give Up- Jason Mraz

Here we sit. Our hands our hands are intertwined as we lay in my bed watching a movie. I've missed this so much. Just the feeling of Justin's protective body next to mine means the world to me. I wouldn't trade this for anything.

"I've missed this," I say my thoughts without even thinking about it. The only thing is, is that it was barely audible.

"Me too."

Wait did Justin actually hear me? I honestly don't know how I can just fall back into old habits like this with him. Why did he always have to be so good to me even though I hated him so much? Ugh! I swear this boy has no faults.

"Justin?" His head tilts down towards me, and he locks his eyes with mine. "Why are you always so good to me? I mean I have hated you for the past seven months."

"Peyton, even though you hated me doesn't mean I hated you. I have always loved you. I always will. And I won't let anyone hurt you again."

"What if you hurt me again?" I ask shyly, removing my gaze from Justin's.

I feel his soft lips press firmly but lovingly on my forehead. "I said I wouldn't let anyone hurt you again. Including me." His grip around my waist tightens and he pulls me even closer.

Slowly my eyes begin getting heavier and heavier until I fall into a deep sleep safely in Justin's protective grip. My last thought before falling asleep was I really hope Justin doesn't let me down again.

Next Morning:

I suddenly wake up to the horrific sound of somebody banging on the door. I sit up and realize there is nobody lying next to me anymore. My heart sinks for a moment, and then I begin to wonder if it ever really happened. I take an extremely deep breath before swinging my legs over the side of the bed and walking downstairs.

I walk straight to the front door without hesitating I open it and there he stands. His face has the same expression it had the same day he left me. The same sorry expression he had at the tree no more than a few weeks ago. Chase. Who does he think he is coming here?

"Chase? What are you doing here?" I ask in completely awe.

"Look, Peyton, I am so completely sorry. I have regretted breaking up with you ever since that party. Please, I will do anything to earn your trust again."

I turn my head around, checking for any sign of Justin being here the night before. Theirs is nothing. Sadly I guess it was just a dream.

"Chase I would love to give you another chance, but you told me you didn't love me anymore. You can't imagine how hard that was for me to hear," A few tears begin to escape from my eyes. "If I would let you back into my life then who is stopping you from doing that to me again? I don't know if my heart could handle that again. You can't take back what you said."

"Please Peyton I am so sor-"

"Peyton, who are you talking to-" I turn around to se Justin leaning against the wall between the front door and the kitchen. Once our eyes meet he rushes over to my side.

Justin's POV:

Right as Peyton turns around I see the tears streaking down her cheeks. I rush over to her side and all I can think of is how much I want to pound this dick. I pull Peyton into a hug then wipe the tears off of her cheeks.

The next thing I know I am pulling Peyton behind me protectively and my hands start to form into fists.

"I think it's time for you to leave," I say this through clenched teeth. This idiot still doesn't move. "If you don't leave in five seconds I'll be carrying you out in a body bag."

"Justin?" Peyton grabs my arm and I slightly turn to face her but I keep my eyes locked on whoever this kid is. "Justin, look at me." Her gentle hand touches my cheek and pulls my face to look at her. My gaze slowly meets hers, "Justin, let it go. He was just about to leave. Right Chase?" She asks looking at him.

"Uh, yeah sure," the dick face says.

Yeah dick face I think I could deal with calling him that.

"Bye Chase," Peyton whispers as I slam the door in his face. She wraps her arms around my neck tightly and I wrap mine around her tiny waist.

"I thought you left after I didn't see you next to me this morning." She pauses. "Actually I thought you were never here." She sighs again.

"Like I said last night I will never leave you and I will always protect you. No one will ever hurt you again." My grip tightens around her and I kiss the top of her head. "C'mon I made you breakfast."

A slight smile comes across her face and she takes my hand.
