*Ring Ring*
I looked at my clock and realized it was already noon.
Shit, can't believe I worked all night and morning.
I rubbed my tired eyes and saved my progress. Feeling like I deserved a reward for working so hard, I decided to sleep for a few hours.
As my body relaxed on my soft covers, my eyes began to close slowly, until all I saw was darkness.
*(9 hours later)*
So you think you can stop me and spit in my eye
So you think you can love me and leave me to die
Ooooh baby
"uugh what now"
I answered my phone not bothering to check who it was in the first place.
"Hello" I answered, my voice sounding all groggy
"Um I think I have the wrong number, this is Rexy right?"
"Don't make me punch you Ryder, you know I'll do it too, now what do you want."
"Yep this is the same violent Rexy I know and love, but anyway I was just calling to ask, not much, just well you know...WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU?"
"Damn, did you have to yell. I'm currently in my bed, why? what's the problem?"
"Did you forget we have a performance tonight, you were supposed to be here 10 minutes ago."
"Oh shit! I completely forgot, ummm I'll be there in 15, stall if you have to, bye."
I hung up, changed into my skinny jeans, biker boots, and white tank top. I threw my leather jacket over it, grabbed my guitar and ran out the door.
*On her way*
Shit Shit Shit, I'm not going to make it
It was getting harder for me to breathe as I ran to the club.
Dammit, times like this I wish I had a freakin car
I stopped at the crosswalk and pressed the button repeatedly, hoping it would change faster. The club was right on the other side of the street.
*Ding ding*
The light finally changed, and I wasted no time running across.
Before I was able to take my last step to get on the sidewalk, a bright light came at me and knocked me down.
*Jason's P.O.V*
(A few minutes before)
"Yes father, I understand. Where will I be meeting her?...yes I know where it's at....okay, bye."
I hung up the phone, feeling exhausted. I was on my way to another blind date my father had set up. I really wasn't in the mood for this, but my father told me that, "A real man must always have a woman he loves beside him for support."
It's not that I've never dated before, it's just that I've been focusing more of my energy at work. My father ran Grayson Productions, one of the biggest movie production companies in the U.S.
My father always told me, ever since I was a kid, that one day the company would be mine, but I would have to prove myself to him first.
Now that I'm 25, I feel like I'm more than responsible to take over, and yet my father still thinks differently.
I heard my phone ring, but because my eyes we're focused on the road, I reached for it and accidentally knocked it down
"Crap"
I leaned over into the passenger side to grab it. I only took my eyes off the road for a quick second and as soon as I looked up again I realized I was about to hit someone. My foot to hit the break but it was too late. I hit her and knocked her down.
"Holy shit!"
I quickly got out of car and noticed there was already a group of people surrounding her. Her long wavy brown locks was covering her face.
"Is she okay?!"
"What was that guy thinking!"
I stood there frozen, I couldn't believe what I had done.
I-is she dead
I saw her start coughing and I came to my senses and bent down.
"Are you okay?"
"I just got hit by a car, does it look like I'm okay."
"Look, we gotta get you to the hospital. You need to see a doctor."
"No, no hospital, I have somewhere to be..I just have to walk it off."
She started getting up and attempted to walk but kept stumbling. I caught her by her shoulders before she fell but she yanked herself from my grip.
"I'm fine."
I watched her until she disappeared inside the club.
People were still walking by giving me glares at what I had just done. But hey, she was the one who didn't want my help. As a couple walked by I heard the girl mumble,
"If I was that girl I'd totally sue that asshole."
Shit what if that girl does sue me. The last thing I need is for this to blow up in my face, and get on the news. My dad will get pissed.
I parked my car in the club's parking lot, grabbed my briefcase and went in.
