I was driving in my car, with Cas in the passenger seat, drinking. I looked at Castiel.

Castiel looked away.

I sighed. "Cas, it's the only way, and you know it. I don't like interacting with Metatron any more than you do, but he has your Grace stashed away somewhere. I'm not going to let him out, Cas. Can you just trust me on this?"

"I do trust you, Ava," Castiel told me. "More than anything. But I also know that you are desperate to help fix me, because you are right. I lied. I'm not happy with my Human life. But it is better than whatever Metatron will manipulate you into doing just to become an Angel again."

"I'm not going to let him manipulate me into doing anything," I told him.

"You shouldn't be doing this at all, Octavia," Castiel told me.

"I am helping you, Castiel," I told him. "And what about helping Sam and Dean? Your preference to continue to suffer in Human life for your principles, it's very noble, but it is meaningless. You're miserable, Cas."

"I know you want to save me, Ava," Castiel told me. "But I don't need to be saved."

"I see it differently," I told him. My phone rang. I looked through the car until I found it, seeing it was Sam calling, answering. "Sam."

"You need to get to the Bunker. Now."

"Oh, I do, hmm?"

"Yes. I found Dean."

I was surprised, happy, putting my phone on speaker for Cas to hear. "You found Dean? That's amazing, Sam."

"Yeah, um... not so much. Ava... Dean's a Demon."

Castiel and I exchanged a look of shock.

"Dean's a Demon?" Castiel repeated. "How?"

"The Mark, I--I guess. It--it just messed him up. I don't know."

"That is a vast understatement," Castiel told him.

"Right. So, I'm trying to cure Dean the way that I almost cured Crowley."

"Well, is the treatment working?" I asked.

"No, not very well. Look, it's--it's not like it was with Crowley. Dean is in pain. I mean, he's in bad pain. It's like he's barely holding on. Guys... I might me killing him."

"It might be," Castiel told us sadly.

"So, what? Should I stop?"

"And do what?" Castiel asked. "He's not possessed. Exorcism is out of the question. The ritual of purified blood is the only treatment I know."

"Cas, did you not hear what I just said?" Sam asked. "I could be killing my brother."

"Sam, he's not your brother," Castiel told him. "At least, not now. You have to be prepared for--"

"Killing my brother, but this is kind of an 'all hands on deck' situation."

"Yeah, absolutely it is," I agreed. "Me and Cas will meet you there, very, very soon. Well, not as soon as we would be able if we could still teleport and if Cas would let me enact my plan to get his Grace back instead of chastising me like the little sister that's done something wrong, but... still."

"Ava, let it go," Castiel told me. "Please."

"Ava, have you been drinking?"

"Yes," Castiel answered.
