Chapter 7

Chapter 7

We piled into Crystals car, and she drove us to the forest - the location of the bonfire. Vi was a little worried at first, what with finding out that there were wolves in the forest, but i assured her that she wouldn't get eaten because she was too skinny and didnt have any meat on her.

The drive took less than 5 mins - most of the houses around here were strangely close to the forest. We parked the car outside the woods, and we had to walk through to the bonfire site - not an easy task in a dress and heels, starting to rethink the shoes. After minutes of dodging tree branches, and nearly getting cut on many occasions, we finally neared the bonfire - i could see the smoke and ashes flying in the sky.

The bonfire was a pile of wood logs in the middle of a clearing in the forest - this was an area where there were no trees, the site was quite large and so all of the people attending could dance around with ease, and without having to worry about falling into a tree. Big boulders and tree logs were placed strategically around the bonfire, so people could sit and chat if they got tired of dancing. There were a lot of barbecue equipment lying around and people had starting grilling sausages for hot dogs, and burgers and chops... my mouth was watering. There were several hundres packs of marshmallows on a table somewhere, and cocktail sticks for people to make smores. There was also a few coolers with beers and soft drinks in them. Someone had set up a DJ station in the boot of their car and set up speakers around it, and the sound of the music blasting in the air could be heard for miles around. There were some christmas lights tied around the branches of the trees, and some lanterns lay here and there which provided some light. The place was already alive with people dancing and flirting and chatting when we got there. The scene was perfect, and the full moon in the sky completed the effect.

The girls grabbed a bottle of beer each, while i grabbed some Dr. Pepper - i've never been much of a drinker. We grabbed some burgers and hotmdogs from the buffet table, and stacked our plates high with colesaw and potato salad and chips and sauces, before making our way to the log where we spiotted Nate and the boys. Joey and Evan were already on their third bottle of beer at least - they were slightly tipsy and were both silmultaneously flirting with a cute girl - poor thing, having 2 hormonal teenagers hitting on her (or lucky, depending on how you think of it). Nate was watching from the side, amused, and turned to us as we walked up.

"Looking good!" he observed.

A murmur of 'thanks' and 'you too's were heard as we took our seats on the log. Nate was dressed in a normal pale blue T-shirt and kneelength shorts which showcased his impressive biceps, forearms and muscled calves. I was normally quite... attentive of guys, but recently my hormones were in overdrive, and i found myselfeven being attracted to Nate's calves - who the hell finds calves attractive?!!

"How long have you guys been here?" Crystal asked Nate.

"Around an hour," he answered, "thank God you guys came, i wouldnt have been able to take more of their flirting!" he continued, nodding his head towards Joey, Evan and the girl - who was looking increasingly uncomfortable, as her bright blush grew darker when Evan said something.

"Do you think we should reacue her?" i asked around,

"Nah, i bet she's secretly enjoying the attention - i would be!" Vi answered, to which we all smiled.

Without even realising it, i had managed to devour all of my food - the whole plate was empty - woah! But then again, my appetite was increasing lately, and i've been suddenly feeling very energetic lately -
