You, Alora Malfoy, were scared.
You'd never been scared in your life. You were fearless, but you always had your brother, Draco, around to protect you. But Draco couldn't do anything now. You nervously clenched and unclenched your hands as you stood in line to be sorted into your house at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. You stood closer to Draco, rubbing up against his shoulder. He looked down and gave you an encouraging look,
"Don't worry, Alora. You'll be in Slytherin for sure. It's the only house fit for you, being a pure blood wizard," he said glaring over at a girl with brown bushy hair that stood a little ways off.
"She's pretty..." You thought looking her over. But you quickly straightened your shoulders and fixed your blonde hair that hung around your shoulders. As a Malfoy, you had inherited the blonde hair that everyone in your family had, but your was a darker, redder hue then the white-blonde that your father and brother possessed.
"Malfoy, Alora!" Professor McGonagall called and raised the Sorting Hat off of the same girl with brown bushy hair.
You started and gulped. Draco reached a hand down and squeezed yours encouragingly. Squeezing it back tighter then you meant too, you stepped forward and walked dizzyingly up the steps to the stool. Sitting down, you clutched the edge of the stool until your knuckles were white and your nails were clamping down into the wood. Glancing around, you saw Draco biting his lip, watching you carefully. You squeezed your eyes shut as Professor McGonagall slowly brought the Sorting Hat down on your head.
"I don't care where I go, as long as I get to stay with Draco..." You thought, and clenched the stool seat even tighter.
As the hat touched your head it sat there for a moment, then began to talk, "Hmm... You have the makings of many different houses. Thinking of Ravenclaw, ambition, cleverness, and want for power of a Slytherin, and the bravery of a Gryfinndor. But, where to put you?"
"Wherever you'll put Draco!" You silently mouthed.
"Draco? And who is Draco?" The hat suddenly asked.
You jumped! You didn't know it could read your thoughts!
"M...my brother," you stuttered. Glancing at Draco you saw the puzzled expression on his face and tried to smile.
"Hmm... Malfoys. Every one of them has been a Slytherin. I can sense it off your brother without even touching his head. If that's where you wish to be, then I put you in SLYTHERIN!!!"
The Slytherin table erupted with applause and Draco joined in. As you hopped off the stool, you smiled brilliantly. As you turned to get one last glance at Draco before going to your seat, you noticed a short, lanky boy with round glasses and a lightning shaped scar on his forehead. "Peculiar..." You thought to yourself, but also noted to yourself that he was very good-looking. Tearing your eyes away, you ran to the Slytherin side of The Great Hall just as Draco was announced a Slytherin.
Sitting down together, you looked around the table and sighed. So this was going to be your family from now on. Draco put his arm around your shoulders and drew you into a side hug. "Good job, lil sis." He smiled.
"Little? I'm only a couple minutes younger then you!" You exclaimed, giving him a look.
