The next day when the kids got home Lucy went to her room. I make sure that both boys are ok before I go to check on her. I knock on the door and say, " Can I talk to you?"

" It is a free country."

I walk in and say, " Why have you been being mean to me?"

" Because I don't want anyone to take my dad's place. I see how my mom is with you and she has never been like that with my dad. The other two may call you mommy but they don't understand what my mom and you are doing. I hate how my mom is ok with them calling you mommy. I would never tell Tammy though because you are her bestfriend. I just don't understand how everything is happening."

" I don't want to take your dad's place but I do want to have your mom being sad. I know it will take some time for you to understand everything. I am willing to give you time but I want you to give me a chance."

" Ok I will give you a chance."

" Thanks."

She nods and then I walk out. I am glad it went that way and hopefully she won't be mean to me anymore.

The next night I have the kids go over to Wendy's sister's house. When Wendy gets home I have dinner ready. I have made her favorite which is meatball subs. We eat it. She smiles at me because of everything I have done tonight. I have one of those long candles burning on the table.

After we eat we go and watch a comdy. She cuddles into me. I love having her in my arms. I wish that I could have her in my arms more. I want to give Lucy more time before she has to see me with her mom.

The boys have gone to a play date. I am hanging out with Lucy. I say, " Do you want to dance?"

" Yeah sure. That sounds like it will be fun. I miss dancing with you and my siblings. I smile and nod. I put a song on and we start dancing.

Somebody once told me
The world is gonna roll me,
I ain't the sharpest tool in the shed.

She was lookin' kinda dumb
With her finger and her thumb
In the shape of an L on her forehead

I put my finger and thumb in a shape of an L. Lucy laughs and does the same.

Well the years start comin'
And they don't stop comin',
Fed to the rules and I hit the ground runnin'.

We act like we are running.

Didn't make sense not to live for fun,

Your brain gets smart, but your head gets dumb.

We point to our heads.

So much to do so much to see,
So what's wrong with takin' the back streets.

You'll never know if you don't go,
You'll never shine if you don't glow

Hey now, you're an allstar,
Get your game on go play.
Hey now you're a rock star get your show on,

We act like we are playing a guitar.

Get paid. (all that glitters is gold)

We rub our fingers together like we want money.

Only shooting stars break the mold.

It's a cool place
And they say it gets colder,

You're bundled up now, wait till' ya get older.

But the media men beg the differ'
Judging by the hole in the satellite picture.
