DakotaPOV:
He was tall. That was an understatement. I was tall, he was huge. He casually leaned his ginormous facade against a small red car. I had only met him once at a Christmas party. Mom never wanted to come back to this place but for some reason that Christmas was different. I remember it in brief intervals. Long plane rides. New faces. A lanky kid with a goofy grin. The best fish fry I ever had. They were good memories. Good enough to make it feel like this is the place where I could go when I didn't know where else to be.
"Uncle Jacob?" I questioned
A hefty laugh escaped his lips "It's Jake! Uncle is a little excessive," he unfolded himself and everything intimidating about him relaxed.
I laughed "Yeah maybe a little."
"I'm glad you see the humor in this," A goofy grin spread across his face.
"It be hard not to," I agreed.
"How old are you 17?"
"18" I corrected.
"Are you 20?"
"22" he corrected "Well I guess we should head out. Dad's really exited to see you!"
"I'm excited to see everyone! It's been what ten years since I saw everyone last."
"Wow it's been that long,"
"Yeah Mom isn't so keen on frequent family visits"
"Yeah well that typical Rebecca,"
"Yeah..."
The car ride was long frequent small talk didn't really keep the journey from shortening in length. About an hours passed and we drove passed a small beach.
"Do people surf?" I asked almost to myself.
"Not really, the waters freezing! But some brave few venture out," he explained.
A big sigh drew itself across my lips, home seemed so close as those dark blue waves lapped at the stone covered beach.
So I love this chapter because it finally introduces the first original twilight character. Dakota is Jacobs niece! I'm really enjoying the way everything flowing! Please if you liked this vote and leave a comment!
