The man gave us a soft smile, as if to ready us for the life altering news he was about to give. We all tensed up, preparing for the worst. I have seen this movie and it was way too predictable. We were the expendables, the ones they could kill off without a care in the world.

"We are in Russia, a secret North American hide out in the mountains," Russia!? Don't they hate us?

"Are you kidding!? I want to go home!" I yelled, panic consuming me as my breathing became ragged. I had never had a panic attack but I was almost sure I was about to have one.

At my words his smile turned sympathetic "I'm afraid you no longer have a home. Your families believe you are dead, your names and lives have been erased."

My breathing was slowly becoming laboured as my head felt consumed by this weird fuzzy feeling.

"What?" Dax's voice came out in utter shock.

"Hell yeah, I'm dead and I get to start a new life. Wait why are we here?" Jesus asked, his small voice coming out is barely a whisper.

"North America needs weapons, Russia is coming in with full force and we had no choice."

I was at a loss for words, my jaw hanging slack as I looked over to Dax and Jesus to see if they had anything to say about this. They both looked like the same thing was going through their mind as me. What is going to happen? Oh gosh, I'm going to pass out.

Dax was the first of us to speak "What do we have to do with weapons?"

"You seem to have misunderstood. You were hand selected by each of your governments, young prospects that could get the job done. We have made you disappear by faking your deaths and over the next few years you are to be tested through the most thorough training known to man. When I say weapons I mean you," I think my heart has actually stopped "You are all sixteen, in four years you will be your country's greatest defence against what is sure to be this world's greatest war."

The silence that fell over the room practically screamed at use and the tension that settled around us could be cut by a knife. Why me? Why us?

Everyone at home thinks I'm dead, how would they deal? I didn't want to let myself but for a split second I wondered if they would even care. But at last deep down, if this was in fact not a dream I knew I would never be allowed to see my family again. I knew this was it.

I wasn't strong. I've seen all the movies. I know what will happen when I can't keep up with the training and what they would want me to do. I'm sure I already know too much, I would be a great liability to them if I were to be let go.

"I refuse to believe this bullshit!" Oh gosh America don't make this worse yourself, "I wanna talk to the President!"

Americans and their politics... Excuse me while I roll my eyes.

"You may all speak to the President," Secret Agent guy responded.

Hold up, "Why would I want to talk to the American President, I'm Canadian, shouldn't I talk to my leader?" I said in a clipped tone.

Dax gave me a weird look and Secret Agent guy looked away from my gaze.

"I thought our President ran your country," What the hell? "Oh wait! Isn't your President like Tim Horton?"

At his stupidity I looked away from him and back at the old guy, my eyes almost begging him to respond but from his face I could tell I wasn't going to get a better answer from him either.

"I'm sorry but the name of your President seems to have slipped my mind..." Wow, expected to run a North American based Assassin ring and he doesn't even know the leader of Canada?

"We don't have a President!" I yelled in frustration. Gosh it's been five minutes and I already know that Dax and I will in no way get along.

I knew this because of the messed up and completely appalled look in his dark green eyes "Then what do you have? Do you like worship a Moose you trained to say Eh?"

"I believe they have a Prime Minister,"A thick Spanish accent offered up from behind us. I had almost completely forgotten about Jesus and he is already my favourite person here.

Says a lot.

"This is awkward..." Secret Agent guy muttered and then gave me an apologetic smile, "Anyway, I expect that you all get acquainted, you will be doing a lot together so I will leave you to it. My name is Mike by the way and an informant will be by momentarily to properly explain everything. I am what you would call the head of your little team so I hope that you treat me with respect. Though I will warn you, any act of rebellion and the countless methods that we have to deal with that sort of thing will be acted on. So long."

After his little rant he left the room, opening a door that blends into the wall so well that I hadn't noticed it before.

When the door was closed I fell back into a sitting position on the bed trying to let everything settle in my head. I hope this was a dream because I don't remember half of the things he said.

Dax let out a long sigh and turned to Jesus offering his a gorgeous, wide grin "I have been to Mexico a few times, loved it!" Then the guy looked over to me and his grin dropped from his face "I have always refused to go to Canada, I'm sure you can guess why," He quipped, his eyes scanning me in distaste.

I hope they train me well because I would do anything to break this guy's neck!
