He was right, this guy was good, just like I had believed. I started at his appearance taking him in. I hadn't been able to get a good look at him and now with the light of the full moon in the night's sky and the a sense of so many people I confirmed that he was in fact attractive.Wow.
"So since I saved you from the drunken idiot, I believe you owe me a drink, but I'll settle for buying you dinner."
I smiled at his smooth line, clearly it was well thought out but I still found it incredibly sweet, this guy was winning some major brownie points. I thought through his offer, for a second actually believing I had a choice until the realisation dawned on me. I couldn't date, I couldn't even make friends.
"I have a boyfriend," I lied, the excuse slipping out easily. I felt terrible already but worse when his happy expression fell from his face and he sighed, staring down at the ground and then back up at me. Don't do it Derina, don't do it, "How about this," at my words he peeked his head up, curious as to what I had to say, "If fate has its way and I ever see you again, we will go out for coffee, I could see us being great friends."
At my suggestion he finally smiled once again and gave me a curt nod, clearly proud for getting a chance.
"Then I guess I'll be seeing you," He muttered and then without a word from me made his way down the street, passing up the opportunity to go back in and find another girl to make smile.
"Okay, now that lover boy is gone complete your task!" Jesus yelled, slowly becoming aggravated with me. Dax hadn't spoken in a while so that must have meant he was busy getting key card which meant I had to be fast.
Making my way over to the side alley, a black Escalade welcomed me just as we had expected. Looking around the corner I spotted the driver walking around outside of the vehicle completely distracted by his phone.
Taking the opportunity I ran over to the other side of the car, crouching to the ground and rolling underneath it. I laid on my back, looking up and what I had to work with, quickly I reached down to my shoes where I stored a small box. Lifting it up to my vision I took it apart coming up with two small gadgets.
With my hand I brought the two gadgets up to the bottom of the car and attached them pressing the small bottoms on each of them until silently they created two low hanging hammocks. Not waiting a second I pushed off the ground and slid into one. With the weight and the little space between the ground and the bottom of the car I struggled to fit but went along with it knowing it would be a long wait.
With the given time I pulled out another small gadget, this time a tracker and stuck it behind on the parts so it they were to scan the vehicle the signal would not come up. Having it in position I let out a breath and laid back.
"In position, tacker in place, and under car transports ready."
Jesus muttered a confirmation that he heard me clearly already engrossed in whatever Dax was doing, probably watching everything unfold through hacked cameras.
"What is taking so long?" I complained, my legs already strained. Just as the words left my mouth a shuffle sounded beside me and Dax appeared, slowing making his way under the car and into the transport hammock. Wherever this care was going, we were going.
After getting situated and turned his head toward me and frowned, "You could do so much better than that guy."
I drowned back at him totally ready to tell him how this was not the time but then voices sounded out telling us that they were making their way to the car.
