The plane landed and Derek walked me out of the airport. We drove to the complex of apartments our school payed for together, to save money on a cab. when we arrived, i couldnt help but be disapointed at the site of the complex. it was old and torn. it looked like it ha been their a thousand years. it was about 5 stories high with a blue exterior and flat roof. Derek grabbed his own bags and most of mine while i payed the rest of the bill. we walked up to the intercom, im on floor 3 while Derek got floor 4, he offered to switch but i declined, im not that fond of hights and the view from the third floor would be just enough for me.
Derek carried my bags right to my door, right along the coridor, giving me a great view of the street.
"i would invite you in but the place isnt really ready" i spoke nervously gesturing to the bags. Derek was cute, theirs no doubt about it, his tan skin, dark flicky hair and tall build were all attractive features, but it was the deep blue eyes that reminded me of home that made him so comforting to me. Dereks twirked lips opened into a full smile that twisted my stomach. he lent over me slightly, looking down into my mossy green eyes. my cheeks burning red.
"i have to go unpack aswell and call some family, how about tomorrow night i have you over?" Derek spoke in a deep husky voice, the same as he did on the plane when i ran into him, but this was laced with other agendas.
"okay" i nodded. Derek flicked my chin up, winked and lugged his bags up the stairs. i felt my body slide down the door, smiling and jumping up and down. i unlocked the door and to my suprise, the place didnt look half bad. straight away i could see the loungeroom, lit with the light streaming from the wndows. on the right were two gaps in te the walls. the first gap lead to the kitchen while the second lead to the bedroom. the bedroom attatched to the bathroom. the room was basic, with a bed, couch and small television. it also has a dresser in the bedroom and a desk in the lounge area. my boxes were stacked in the middle of the loungeroom, thank god they had beed delivered! i ripped open all the boxes until i found all of my blankets and sheets. i made my bed, i was so looking forward to sleeping, the jetlag had done a number on my sleeping patterns, but i wasnt going to fall asleep until tonight. i unpacked most of the boxes and all of my clothes and after i had finished that i desided i was hungry. luckily around the corner was a little chinese place and i picked up some food to eat while i skyped my family. when Lucy saw me she started crying and i felt so bad, it had been 4 days since i was last home, i even cried. Jason told me about everything at home and i took them all on a tour of the appartment. eventally 10:30 came along and i desided it would be best to go to sleep. i had my first class of the year tomorrow morning, and i wanted to make a good impression.
