Zayn and i had been an item for 3 months now, with no help to harry. they desided to just get over it and work together, but that doesnt mean they werent taking the piss out of each other. they knew where they stood and the best part was that the other guys didnt suspect anything, well liam knew something was wrong, but we expected that. zayn hadnt been smoking either which was a shock, he recovered pretty fast and we went around london the weekend after.
it was a friday night and it began to snow. i had never seen real snow before, i sat on the balcony edge with a cup of tea. i was wearing my baggy grey trackies and a tank top, i didnt care that it was cold, i just wanted to embrace the snow i was slowly drowning in. Zayn watched me from inside, he was use to the snow, i wasnt. i thought about the snow, this was the begining of a new season, and in a few months ill be leaving. zayn didnt like talking about me leaving, but it was a reality. the paparazzi took photos from the ground and i watched them. some had nothing but the clothes on their back and i felt pain. i took the last sip and walked into the apartment.
"did you get cold?" zayn smiled from the couch.
"do you have some blankets you dont want?" i asked, not really sure about my plans.
"um, i have a few, their cheap ones i use on the floor in winter when the floorboards hurt my legs, why?"
"can i have them and ill buy you new ones?" i didnt answer him about why
"yeah ill go get them, i can get you a nicer one if your cold?" he offered confussed
"im going to give them to the paparazzi" i bit my lip and he grew more confused
"why?"
"their cold and they need something to keep them warm"
"they shouldnt be their they should leave us alone!" he became angrier
"you know they cant, leave us alone and you know i cant let them freeze" i looked him dead in the eyes until he groaned and fished out the blankets. i put my shoes on and carried them downstairs. immediantly flashes began to form in my eyes.
"its negetive degrees out here, you cant freeze to death so everybody take a blanket" i yelled to the crowd of photographers. suddenly the flashes stopped and they made eye contact with me, they were people, they were cold. they werent flashes around me 24-7 anymore. one women came and took a blanket from me confused. she thanked me and wrapped her arms around me, pulling the blanket around her. the rest began to form a line, a few thanking me, a few looking to confused to speak.
"i hope you all have a wonderful night, please stay warm" i waved before walking into the building up into the appartment. i walked in and zayn was watching me from the balcony doorway. i blushed under his stare.
"that was a wonderful thing you did Madeline" he kept my gaze and i felt embarraced.
"they needed blankets" i reasoned, sitting on the couch, but zayn kept his gaze on me.
Zayn's P.O.V
I was in dibelief. she didnt even understand how odd what she did was. im not racist or anything but thats the way australians are, if they see a need, they help. those people downstairs wouldnt help her if she was drowning, they would photograph her, but its a little chilly outside and she gave them warmth.
"zayn why do you keep looking at me like that?" she smiled, i shook my head and went into the kitchen to make some more tea. i looked through the window at the snow. she had been here for all of autumn, and my life had changed permidently. she was so normal and i was so... abnormal. i hadnt broken the bedroom boundry, but she had pretty much moved in. in 6 months she would be leaving and id be left here to do what? longe around on the balcony waiting for the next one? no, their wasnt going to be a next one. it hurts too much.
