~I'll follow my dreams; you'd think they were nightmares the way they scream~

She smiled, biting her lips as she held onto the microphone with all her might.

"Anytime you want, sweetheart." The judge nodded encouragingly, as she took a deep breath.

Opening her mouth, she let the words she knew by heart escape.

"I know I can't take one more step towards you, 'cause all that's waiting is regret..." Her voice rang around the deadly silent room. No sounds were heard throughout the whole song, people simply staring at her, captivated by the emotions and the strength of her voice.

"...Who do you think, you are?" She finished, her heart beating fast in her chest as her breathing was slightly shallow. Applauses rang around the room, whooping and cheering. Her face split in two, her smile wide. She bowed down, murmuring a quick 'thank you' in the microphone, before standing back up and waiting for the judges' final judgment.

"Well..." Simon started, his face at first blank, quickly changed to a smile. "...That was amazing, sweetheart." All the judges agreed, and before she knew it, she had 4 yesses for the next round.

She smiled proudly, straightening her back, although she knew her eyes were shining with tears. "Thank you so much. I'll try to not let you down." She promised and quickly exited the stage. She went backstage and jumped in the arm of her parents, falling into relieved sobs, her body shaking as she simply broke down, the excitement and the stress of the day falling on her shoulder.

Her parents hugged her, congratulating her, but after a couple of minutes, they both fell quiet. Her mother leaned closer to her and whispered in her ear: "Don't freak out, but I think that's the guy on your wall."

Confused, Y/N looked up at her mom, before turning her head around. And there he was, in all his splendor. "Hello, Love. I just wanted to say that this performance was amazing." He told her, his voice has sweet, husky and familiar as ever.

"W-what?" She squeaked out, her eyes wide as she hastily wiped the tears away.

Michael chuckled and moved forward, quickly enveloping her in a hug. "It really was great! Gave me the shivers." He confessed, before moving away as she stood there, staring dumbly at him.

"I'm dreaming, ain't I? This can't possibly be true. I mean, you are...you. Standing in front of me, right now. Somebody, please tell me I'm not dreaming." She rambled, her face flushing as her mouth disconnected from her brain.

He laughed, passing a hand through his hair. "No, you're not dreaming." He confirmed, biting down on his lips lightly, before turning toward her parents. "Hello, my name is-"

Michael was interrupted by her mother: "-Oh, don't worry! I already know who you are. From that band, right? 5 Seconds of Summer?"

He nodded, suddenly awkward in front of her parents.

Her father looked him up and down for a minute, before stepping forward and giving him a bear hug. "I approve." He stated as he stepped back from him, nodding.

Her's face flushed in embarrassment, groaning out a "Dad".

"Sweetie, I have to agree. He's a keeper." Her mother piped in.

"Oh god. Kill me now." She whimpered, hiding her face behind her hands.
