(Wow ok so sorry for not posting... For a really boring chapter it took a hell of a long time... I'm going to try and get back on track with this story. More Phan coming soon! Also, PINOF7, anyone?? It was beautiful.)

It started with the scent of fresh lemon.
Dan rubbed at his eyes, the sunlight beaming through the curtains. He sat up slightly, his blanket falling to expose his naked chest.
Phil was at the counter, squeezing a ripe lemon into a jug, filling it with juice and pulp. His large hands had no problems when it came to juicing the sour fruit.
Dan watched as Phil worked, his smile and gracefulness reminding Dan of the boy's innocence. But when Phil crushed that lemon with such ease and ferocity, he realized that although the boy was beautiful, he could kill like a hound.
Phil felt eyes on him and turned to look at the watchful friend. A smile lit up his face as he noticed the loving glance Dan spared him. Maybe they really did have a chance someday.
Dan looked down as he hopped out of bed, a little embarrassed at being caught staring.
"Good morning, Dan!" Phil cheered. He had been up for quite a while now, so the usual morning grogginess had washed away.
Dan leaned against the counter. "Mrng," Dan mumbled, tired. He opened the cupboard, grabbing his box of cereal off of the shelf. He shook the box, but it was silent. Looking inside, he found it empty.
"Phiiiiiiiil," Dan whined, and Phil smiled up at him apologetically. "Stop eating my cereal." Phil made a frowny face, causing Dan's heart to just melt.
"It makes the perfect midnight snack!" Phil argued. Dan just sighed and put the empty box on the counter, defeated. He went over the table in this spacious hotel room, and opened his laptop.
He looked at the flashing green tab on his computer and his eyes widened. He had set up his computer to open anytime some suspicious crimes were committed in the nearby area. Reading the alert, a small grin spread across his face. This was definitely a case.
"Phil, come here." He called to his mate. Phil, who had been watching Dan in curiosity, went over and peered over his shoulder.
"Three bodies, all found in Dumfries, Virginia, drained of blood with needle-like pinpricks on their necks." Dan turned to look at Phil, whose face was only inches away from his. How he wanted to close that gap so desperately.
Phil nodded, still staring at the screen. He didn't trust himself to make eye contact with Dan right now, not with a raging hard on and the most impure thoughts on his mind.
He took a step back from the computer, finally trusting himself to look into the melting, chocolatey eyes of his hunting partner. Of his own guardian angel.
Dan stood up, his brain in utter confusion. What are you doing? His mind was screaming at him to stop. He made his way to Phil, his only purpose to close the gap between them.
"Oh, bad timing?"
Dan had never been so thankful for the King of Hell.
He turned to Tyler, confused to the demon's purpose here. Didn't they already talk with this guy? Phil cautioned a look at both Tyler and Dan, unsure of which one he'd rather be alone with right now.
Tyler smiled at the two. His little OTP was this millennia's Romeo and Juliet, a star-crossed lovers case. He knew it would never last. A son of an archangel and a child of Night? To Tyler, it was funny to let this all play out.
He glanced over at the demon boy. He didn't have a shirt on, and Tyler couldn't say he wasn't a little more excited than usual about that.
Tyler coughed, clearing his mind. "So, you fellas on your way to slay some vamps?" Phil stared at the King, wondering what the price of this small visit was. If he was going to try to kill them again, he wasn't very prepared. Phil slipped his hand over the handle of the angel blade, prepared to fight if anything happened.
The king laughed. "You can kill a demon with that blade, not a king. Even if it is you holding-" Tyler coughed. "I mean, you're a good hunter, but no one can kill a Ruler of Hell."
Dan glanced from Phil to the Demon, unsure if he caught a slip-up or not. Phil returned his gaze, confirming Dan's speculations. Phil returned his vision to Tyler and shrugged, playing with the knife.
"Then I guess you wouldn't mind me testing that theory?" Phil asked, stepping closer to the King of Hell, who in turn stepped away from the hunter.
"I only came here to give you some advice." The two hunters squinted at him, confused. "I wouldn't keep looking for Zoë if I were you."
Dan laughed slightly, amused by the thought that the tiny, sassy King of Hell was threatening them. Phil kept a snicker down, trying desperately to be devoid of emotion. He didn't want anything against him when it came to Tyler.
"And why not?" Dan smirked, Phil giving the King a sideways glance. "Are you going to kill us or something? Because you've tried twice now and you've never gotten far."
Tyler rolled his eyes. "I won't kill you, but that doesn't mean she won't." At that Phil couldn't help but chuckle. It was amusing, after all, that their long term friend would want them dead. "I wouldn't take this lightly. I'm seriously considering just letting her after you myself. It would save me the trouble."
Phill huffed. For now, this empty threat was the last thing in his mind. "Ok, don't go looking for our friend, anything else?" He asked, only half paying attention. The two were both so caught up in Tyler's slip up that they didn't notice the small demon disappear.
Dan sat down on the edge of the bed, head in his hands. "What did he mean, even you? Even you couldn't kill him? Is there something we're missing?" Dan huffed, not for the first time since working with Phil being completely stumped.
Phil shook his head, looking out the window an breathing in the sent of sweet lemon. How peaceful it was just moments ago.
"The knife kills demons, too." Phil said. His mind started racing. "Maybe that's the clue." The sweet drink awaited the two on the counter, but neither reached for a glass or even moved at all.
The taste in their mouth was sour enough already.
