Fox had Lark sit on the dirt floor as he rummaged through the various scrolls on the shelf. Fox pulled out a scroll and shakily gave it to Lark. The scroll depicted the gem. The description was, 'KEY TO THE 3 KINGDOMS' "the 3 kingdoms?" Lark asked. "Yes! Yes, the heir has been missing for years, we can travel to the Kingdoms cave! We can insert this gem, and, supposedly enter a new realm! This is the key!! We have to do it! We can help them find the heir! Let's go tomorrow!" Fox exclaimed. Lark smiled. Maybe they could help her become queen! "Fine." Lark agreed. It was set. They would leave tomorrow. Lark ran right to her hut and started packing. She looked at herself in a reflecting mirror. She looked like a princess. Maybe, she didn't want to look like a princess, maybe, she wanted to look like a hunter, an explorer. She tore off her feathered headband. She took off all of her accessories. She grabbed her light brown cloak, a Falcon as the pin holding it together. She put on deerskin tight pants and a deerskin shirt, a Falcon flying depicted on it. She wrapped the cloak around herself and put the hood over her head. She grabbed an unmade bow and engraved a Falcon onto the handle. It took awhile, but, soon, Lark didn't look like a princess. She was ready to go on the journey. Suddenly, her tent ripped open. "What!? What have you done to your dress? I knew you were stupid!" Cara hissed. "Hey!" Lark said as she faced her sister. "Where are you going? Mother still wants you to marry that Fox guy. Lucky me, I am going to be married to the greatest King alive!" Cara said snottily as she fluffed her hair. "Get out! You are not welcome here!" Lark growled. Cara laughed as she left with a sweeping notion. The breeze that blew in the gut was frozen and cold. It made Lark's cloak flap softly. Lark saw Fox coming into the hut. It had taken Lark all day to perfect the bow and pack, it was dark, and Lark realized she hadn't eaten. "I brought you leftovers." Fox told her. "Oh, wow, you dressed up differently." Fox said grinning. "Yeah, well, we are traveling, don't want to look like a princess." Lark said taking the leftovers and sitting down. "Hey, you might want to." Fox said nudging her shoulder. "You might meet a nice Prince who would want to marry you!" He said laughing. "Oh, please. I just know you are going to find a princess on this trip!" Lark said. Looking at his eyes. "I just want to be queen." Lark said looking away. Fox gently grasped her chin and turned her head facing him. "I just want to be king." He said. "Goodnight, Lark." He told her as he walked out of the hut. She fell asleep fast, thinking of Fox.
It was still dark when Fox woke her. "It's time." Fox said softly. Fox and Lark walked out of the hut. She said one last goodbye to the valley. Not sure if she would ever return.
