"I have a map. It could take us weeks to get to the cave! Months! It will be a long journey." Fox told her. They had walked 2 miles away from the camp. Lark stopped. She could hear rushing waters. "Rapids!" She recalled. They both ran up ahead, to find a large river, flowing forcefully down the land. "I can fly, but, you can't." She said. Fox's eyebrows were furrowed. Lark flew across the river, landing on the other side swiftly. She turned into human form and gestured for Fox to come across. Fox slowly waded in the ice cold water. The current almost pulling him down. Lark grabbed his hand and helped him onto the other side. She gave him a blanket she had packed so that he could dry off. "Thanks." Fox said. She smiled. Fox and Lark started up again, walking through the forest and wrapping their cloaks tighter around themselves, so that they wouldn't freeze. "So, what do you like doing for fun?" Fox asked grinning. "Well, I guess.. I really just like to fly." She said to him. "I like to do archery." Fox replied. "That's interesting, I didn't think foxes liked to do archery." Lark smirked. "Ha, well, runs in my family, my mother was a fox." He said, looking down at the ground softly. "My father was a Falcon, my mother never approved of him teaching me to fly." Lark chuckled. "You know, I wonder what the kingdoms are like. Maybe, they are like us." He said. "Maybe.. Hey, we should make sure we hunt when the the afternoon comes." She said back. "You can try to fly and find a herd of Deer, anything to eat."
Soon enough, it was afternoon, Lark put her bags down on a log and flew. Even when she was flying, she couldn't see the cave. It was miles and miles away. Even her Falcon eyesight couldn't locate it. Lark shrugged it off and eagerly searched the ground for prey. "Caaaawwwwwaaahhhh!" She swiftly turned her head. It was her worst fear. An Eagle. Eagles preyed on Falcons. This would not end well. She dove down, heavily breathing in fear as the Eagle closed in, it's giant talons reaching for her neck. Fox looked up, his black hair falling as he tilted his head. Lark dove towards him, a desperate attempt, 'Almost..there." She wheezed in her mind. She hit the forest floor, flapping her wings to help her landing. But, Fox had disappeared. The Eagle had reached the ground and was stalking towards her, it's eyes narrowed. Suddenly, a midnight black creature dove and tore the Eagle's neck. When it turned to her, Lark realized, it was Fox. He had a cream white patch of fur around his muzzle and white on his paws and tip of his tail. Fox turned back into a human, so did she. "Thanks, I didn't see any prey though." She said. "It's okay, as long as you're safe." He said, and they continued.
