The Awkward Talk

After Kenny and I's little talk I snuck back into my bedroom by climbing up the wall of my house where there is a good vine plant growing. I went into my room and plopped down on my bed face down then screamed into my pillow. Tears started to pour out of my eyes as I thought of Benny, all the words he said to me and all of the shit he's put me through. Sighing, I sat up and took out my black binding notebook and a wooden pencil. I began to write and write. Time slipped past me as I just kept writing and fixing a song that I had just written. Tiger and Anna walked into my room without knocking and looked at me with a smile. I hadn't told anyone how I was doing so they didn't know that I was hurt.

"Strike-Out! Come on you should come outside with us!" Tiger exclaimed as a bright smile is placed on her face.

"Sure thing Tiger. Want another song too?" I ask wanting to give my family a sneak peak into my brand new song.

"Yes!!" Anna shouted happily as she bounded up, jumping with excitement.

Laughing lightly I grabbed my guitar and walked out of my room and down the flight of staircase with Anna and Tiger bounding behind me. Sharon came out with Derek and Sam(Samuel) with a smile, then Fiona came pushing Alex and Jason out of the way making me laugh. I sat on one of the porch steps and took a deep breath. Looking out to the road then to the house next to me. I was done with Benny and his ways. I couldn't handle the pain no more, I couldn't stand how he thought of me. Alex tapped me which snapped me out of my trance.

"You don't have to Aqua..." he says softly, probably telling that I was upset over something.

"No I'm fine. Never gonna stop singing my feelings," I respond with a cheeky smile.

He laughs and I stroke my guitar to tune it. Everyone stopped pushing and shoving making me smile. I was going to miss them. I love them with all my heart and I know this is going to be tough on them but it's better me than Tiger or Anna or Alex. I knew that they would be able to move on quicker from me. I take a deep breath and strum my guitar to the beat with a smile to my beloved family.

Once I finished, I heard clapping from behind me. I turned around to see Scotty and I got quickly, hugging him tightly. He laughs and hugs me back then pulls away from the hug to sneak a look at Tiger. I could see the faint pink tint to his cheeks while her face was as red as a tomato. I look between the two then gasp, hitting Scotty on the arm.

"You asked her out!?" I exclaim as a smile makes it across my face.

"Earlier today before we came to get you," he smiles happily at Tiger then smiles sheepishly at me.

"Finally you grew some balls!" I exclaim as he grows redder making me smirk.

"Well now that I did it maybe you should grow some balls and talk to Benny," he says and I look down.

"You know what's going to happen when I do that. He'll do what he does every other time," I mumble quietly so only he can hear.

"If you're going to leave. It has to be now," Scotty said quietly to me so no one else can hear.

"Fine. Guys I'll be back, gonna go talk to Benny," I say as I walk across the yard to Benny's house.
I knock on the door for Naomi to open the door, "Hello Mrs. Rodriguez. Is Benny home?"

"Oh yes he is. He came in seeming pretty devastated about you," she said as she points to Benny's room.

I nod softly, slightly confused as to why he would be upset over me. What he says and does to me is quite normal. I walk up to Benny's door and knock softly. I hear shuffling behind the door then it opens to reveal a shirtless Benny. He looks around confused then looks down at me with wide eyes.

"Aqua? What are you doing here?" he asked sounding just as confused as I was.

"I came to make amends. I refuse to leave with how much history we have to be forgotten," I state sternly, feeling awkwardness take over me.

"Well I don't want to remember that past. Just leave Aqua, it's too late," he says coldly at me and I sigh, looking away.

"Fine. Goodbye Benjamin. Have a good life," I say quietly as I walk out.

I walk back to my house then run up the stairs to my bedroom, locking my door. I flop onto my bed sobbing. I know I said I was done but I can't get over him. I can't stop how my mind thinks of him twenty-four seven. He used to be my best friend. He used to be the shoulder I could cry on now he's the reason I'm crying. I suddenly couldn't be any more happy to leave this place. There was no changing my mind now. I was leaving. And I was going to leave all of this pain behind.
